Education is an important factor to continue developing Vietnam-Russian Federation relations.

NDO - On November 1, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation held an online meeting with representatives of Russian universities to discuss measures to enhance cooperation in the field of education between the two countries.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Doan Khac Hoang, Counselor, Second Deputy of the Embassy of Vietnam in the Russian Federation; representatives of the Education Department of the Embassy, ​​the Foundation for promoting the development of Russian-Vietnamese cooperation "Tradition and Friendship" and representatives of more than 100 Russian universities.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Doan Khac Hoang emphasized that Vietnam and Russia have a long history of trustful relations. The Soviet Union (formerly) supported Vietnam during difficult times and trained many experts who made important contributions to the development of economic and scientific fields in Vietnam.

Russia today still maintains its support and continues the good traditions of the past. This support and cooperation has become the basis and foundation to further deepen the close relationship between the two peoples of Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

Mr. Doan Khac Hoang said that in recent meetings held on the sidelines of the expanded BRICS Summit in Kazan at the end of October, the leaders of Vietnam and the Russian Federation paid special attention to the issue of cooperation in the field of education. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed their belief that education is an important factor in continuing to develop bilateral relations.

At the meeting, representatives of Russian universities discussed and proposed measures to strengthen educational cooperation with Vietnamese universities, shared experiences of cooperation between universities of the two countries in recent times, as well as proposed a long-term "roadmap" to increase the attraction of Vietnamese students to study in Russia.

This meeting is an opportunity to promote extensive cooperation between Russian and Vietnamese higher education institutions, contributing to concretizing and more effectively implementing the cooperation commitments on education and training signed by the leaders of the two countries in recent times.
