Watching a unique art show, checking in at a space as beautiful as a fairyland or attending a sacred lantern offering ceremony... are a few of the many experiences that make Ba Den Mountain, Tay Ninh attract thousands of visitors on the first day of the April 30 holiday this year.
The intense heat across the provinces and cities has made cool destinations such as the sea or high mountains sought after by tourists for this year's holiday. In the South, where many places have temperatures reaching 38 - 39 degrees Celsius, Ba Den Mountain, located at an altitude of 986m, has a temperature 8 - 10 degrees Celsius lower than the city, making it an ideal destination to escape the heat.
Not only is it cool and worthy of the title "miniature Da Lat" of the Southeast, Ba Den Mountain also attracts tourists with many interesting cloud phenomena such as cloud caps and seas of clouds that appear continuously during this time. Many people choose to come to Ba Den Mountain during this year's holiday to witness the rare flying saucer cloud phenomenon in the world, but quite common at Ba Den Mountain around April and May.
Tourists are excited to admire the tallest Buddha statue in Asia located on the top of the mountain, the largest statue of Maitreya Bodhisattva in the world, and write wishes on candles to offer to the Buddhas.
On this occasion, the exhibition of the Auspicious Bodhi Tree "SRI-MAHA BODHI" at the Tay Bo Da Son Buddha Square attracted many visitors to visit and worship. The exhibition was organized by Mai Vang Rong Viet Joint Stock Company in collaboration with Sun World Ba Den Mountain Tourist Area from April 30 to September 2.
The center of the exhibition is the 24K gold-plated Bodhi Tree, 3.6m high, a handmade masterpiece, awarded the certificate by the Vietnam Book of Records as "The largest 24K gold-plated bronze Bodhi Tree in Vietnam".
The festival atmosphere is vibrant on the top of Ba Den Mountain with unique art shows held continuously in the mornings during the holiday. Visitors are especially interested in the performances of intangible cultural heritage and the simple lifestyle of Tay Ninh people.
The culinary experience at the buffet restaurant with a capacity of 1,500 - 2,000 guests is also bustling with visitors coming to enjoy dishes with diverse flavors and unique settings to celebrate the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. Here, for the first time, visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant, youthful and exciting atmosphere of Loạn Xông Show - an interactive art show inspired by the familiar sounds of the kitchen, the clanging of "pots and pans" combined with bustling melodies and fun dances.
Many people choose to stay at Ba Den Mountain in the evening to enjoy the cool climate when the temperature drops to just over 20 degrees Celsius. The evening is also the time when tourists are excited to watch the water music show applying the most modern technology in Vietnam at the area of the statue of Bodhisattva Maitreya, with extremely vivid and magical water, light, sound effects... for the first time in Tay Ninh.
The most meaningful experience in the evening at the top of Ba Den Mountain is the lantern offering ceremony for visitors to send their wishes for luck and peace. The lantern offering ceremony is held every Saturday evening, becoming a reason for visitors to come to the highest mountain in the South. The first day of this year's holiday falls on Saturday, so thousands of visitors have created an extremely sparkling and sacred lantern offering night on Ba Den Mountain.
