Initial information, at around 10am today (December 6), at the Dak Nong Province Continuing Education Center, an English speaking contest for primary school students will take place.

At this time, Major Tran Dinh Tin (whose child participated in the contest) was sitting on the second floor when he heard the children's screams on the upper floor, so he ran up to see.

When he arrived at the 4th floor, Mr. Tin discovered a 3-year-old girl who had fallen off the railing and was lying under the water trough (about 1.5m from the railing) in a state of panic and screaming.

Seeing the dangerous situation, Mr. Tin quickly ran down to inform everyone, and at the same time called on many people to bring blankets and quilts to help in case the girl fell to the ground.

Receiving information from Mr. Tin, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong (specialist of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Song district) directly went with Lieutenant Colonel Phan Le Tien - Captain of the Staff Team of Dak Mil district Police to the scene, then climbed down to carry the child to a safe area.

Mr. Tin said that when approaching the child, due to the lack of means and tools to support, they had to talk to and calm the child down while calling on everyone to find ropes and ladders to climb down to save him. Mr. Phong and Mr. Tien were forced to climb over the railing down to the water trough to approach and carry the child out of the danger zone.

"A girl about 3 years old went with her parents to watch an English speaking contest and then went up to the 4th floor alone. Because she didn't know the way down, she crawled through the hole under the railing and fell out onto the gutter.

"Recalling that scene, I still tremble. If we had been a few minutes later, the baby would have likely fallen to the ground," said Mr. Tin.
