Oil prices rose again today after Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah accused each other of violating their ceasefire and as Israeli tanks fired on southern Lebanon.

OPEC+ also postponed a meeting that could have extended the production cuts by a few days. Analysts say it is unlikely that OPEC+ will announce a production increase at the upcoming meeting.

OPEC+ supplies half of the world's oil but has maintained production cuts to support prices. They had hoped to gradually reduce the cuts but weak global demand has forced them to delay the start of a gradual increase in output.

Slowing fuel demand in top oil consumers China and the United States has continued to weigh on oil prices this year.

Limiting oil's gains was a report from the US Energy Information Administration showing US gasoline inventories rose by 3.3 million barrels, contrary to analysts' expectations of a slight decline ahead of holiday travel.
