Pepper price today June 28, 2024: Domestic pepper price increases

In the Southeast region, the price increased sharply by 7,000 - 10,000 VND/kg in some localities, trading around 159,000 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong, Dak Lak, and Binh Phuoc provinces was 160,000 VND/kg.

In Dak Lak, it is purchased at 160,000 VND/kg, an increase of 9,000 VND/kg. The price of pepper in Chu Se (Gia Lai) is currently at 157,000 VND/kg, an increase of 7,000 VND/kg. The price of pepper in Dak Nong today is recorded at 160,000 VND/kg, an increase of 10,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices today increased by 8,000 - 10,000 VND/kg. Specifically, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, it was 158,000 VND/kg; in Binh Phuoc, pepper prices reached 160,000 VND/kg.

At the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 7,094 USD/ton, up 0.08%; the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at 7,300 USD/ton, down 2.74%; the price of Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) ASTA at 7,500 USD/ton.

Muntok white pepper price is 9,033 USD/ton, up 0.09%; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price is at 8,800 USD/ton.

Vietnam's black pepper price is trading at 7,550 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 8,150 USD/ton; white pepper price at 11,550 USD/ton. IPC sharply increased pepper prices in Indonesia; reduced pepper prices in Brazil; Vietnam's pepper export price remained the same as yesterday.

Shallots are in season, selling for 50,000 VND/kg

The growth period of chives is quite long, from planting to harvesting lasts 5 - 6 months. On average, one sao usually yields about 400 kg of onions, the selling price is from 45 - 50,000 VND/kg, at peak times it can double.

The Department of Industry and Trade said that the province's lychees are consumed well in both domestic and export markets, of which the export output reached more than 24,700 tons, accounting for over 28.9% of total consumption output.

The Chinese market alone consumed more than 24,500 tons, accounting for 99% of total export output. The remaining Bac Giang lychees were exported to other markets such as: EU about 53 tons, Japan 45 tons, Australia 42 tons, USA 20 tons, Dubai 21 tons, Canada 16 tons and Southeast Asian countries about 18 tons.

Early season crop prices hit record high

Currently, farmers are harvesting the first crop of the rainy season. At this time, many households are making very high profits thanks to the record prices of some vegetables. At this time, farmers growing coriander in Tien Giang province are selling at very high prices, more than 30,000 VND/kg.

Farmers growing this vegetable in Long Hung commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province shared that previously the price of coriander was very unstable, only from 7,000 - 8,000 VND/kg. If the price was from 20,000 VND/kg, farmers would have made a good profit, with a price of 30,000 VND/kg, growers would have made a profit of 50%.

The prices of some other vegetables such as pennywort, om rau, and perilla also increased by 5-10% compared to last month. In particular, the prices of chili peppers increased to a record level, such as the price of the Chi Thien chili pepper variety at over 40,000 VND/kg. In particular, the price of Sen Hong chili pepper continued to increase to 70,000 - 80,000 VND/kg, farmers who harvest chili peppers at this time earn a profit of over 50,000 VND/kg.

A farmer in Tan Quoi Hamlet, Tan Ly Dong Commune, Chau Thanh District only grows 2.5 hectares (2,500m2) of chili but earns over 10 million VND per day. They said they grow Sen Hong 150 chili and find the yield very high. They have harvested 5 times now, each day they get 200kg, selling for 70,000 VND/kg, earning 14 million VND per day, several times better than rice.
