After a hard day of training, the soldiers finally have time to relax. Private Hoang Kim Tuyen, a soldier of Squad 2, Platoon 1, Company 1, Battalion 1, Regiment 6, was excited when the unit commander allowed him to call his family on Zalo. In addition to visiting his relatives, Tuyen also talked about his academic and training achievements and the joys of the military environment.

Private Hoang Kim Tuyen shared: “My mother lives alone at home, her job is unstable, and life is still difficult. So when I joined the army, I was very worried about my family. But through the Zalo group, I had the opportunity to call my mother to know the situation. My mother also knew the information so she felt more secure. Her words of encouragement gave me more motivation to perform my tasks well.”

Each company in Regiment 6 established a Zalo group connecting unit officers with soldiers' relatives. For the Zalo group to operate effectively, officers take photos, record and edit videos about activities such as: Cultural and artistic activities, physical training and sports, extracurricular activities, entertainment, praising comrades with high results in performing tasks, close stories about camaraderie, solidarity between officers and soldiers... Along with that, on the Zalo group, the unit commander informs the soldiers' families about necessary contents such as: Regulations on leave regime, policies for the Army's rear, regulations for families when visiting soldiers... From the information updated in the Zalo group, the soldiers' relatives are very assured about their children during training and work at the unit, and at the same time inform the unit commander of any urgent and important matters at home for timely solutions.

Senior Lieutenant Huynh Phuoc Thanh, Political Commissar of Company 1, Battalion 1, shared: “Right from the time the soldiers first joined the army, we created QR codes so that when the soldiers’ relatives came to visit, they could scan the code and join the Zalo group. The unit also oriented the content for families to exchange and share effectively, while at the same time informing relatives about the soldiers’ learning and training results, thereby having measures to coordinate education and good management of the soldiers.”

The “Zalo group for soldiers’ rear” has been effective in grasping and promptly resolving issues arising in the work of education, management of ideological situation, discipline and social relations of soldiers. Not only that, the Zalo group also has a positive effect in preventing acts of impersonating military officers to defraud and appropriate assets of soldiers’ relatives.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Tri, Political Commissar of Regiment 6, the "Zalo group for soldiers' rear" has brought about practical results. This is one of the information channels that helps Party committees and commanders at all levels better grasp the family circumstances, thoughts and feelings of soldiers, thereby accurately determining appropriate ideological management measures. The unit also promotes propaganda and education, promoting the role of cadres at all levels in keeping up with soldiers, effectively implementing general and individual education, and creating consensus within the unit.

To effectively implement in the coming time, the unit continues to focus on training and improving the qualifications of the staff in using technology, methods, skills to grasp, manage ideology, experience in forecasting, assessing, evaluating, and resolving ideological situations, contributing to improving the quality of education and management of soldiers. It can be seen that the "Zalo group of soldiers' rear" has initially had a positive effect in helping soldiers feel secure, have more motivation to strive, and successfully complete assigned duties and tasks.
