Press conference of the National Scientific Conference to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South

According to information at the press conference, the workshop had the theme: "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 with the new era of development of the Vietnamese people", chaired by the Ministry of National Defense, in coordination with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of Public Security , the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Major General Tong Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, spoke at the press conference.

The workshop aims to affirm and clarify that the Great Victory of Spring 1975 was a victory of the will to unify the country and the aspiration for peace of the Vietnamese people; a victory of the Vietnamese spirit, intelligence and the strength of great national unity associated with the strength of the times in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Affirming the correct and wise guidelines, policies and leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh - the decisive factor for all victories of the Vietnamese revolution.

At the same time, the workshop provided new materials, profound scientific arguments and foundations to clarify the preparation process, the course of the campaign, the role and coordination of the forces participating in the campaign; clarify the historical context, international and domestic situations; highlight the brave, resilient, ingenious and creative fighting spirit of the people and armed forces of the whole country, directly the army and people of the South, deepen the unique military art in the resistance war against the US to save the country; draw valuable lessons, apply and promote in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

Colonel, Dr. Le Thanh Bai, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of Defense Strategy and History, introduced the workshop.

Over the past time, the Vietnam Institute of Defense Strategy and History (Ministry of National Defense) has closely coordinated with agencies of the Ministry of National Defense, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Military Region 7, to conduct surveys, develop plans; coordinate and carefully and closely implement all preparation work according to the plan with good quality. Based on the theme of the conference, the Organizing Committee received 119 presentations from leaders of the Party, State, Central Military Commission and ministries, departments, branches, scientists inside and outside the Army. The presentations were carefully and seriously researched, closely following the content of the conference theme, contributing to clarifying documents and events with scientific and convincing approaches and solutions and ensuring good quality.
