EuroCham elects new Board of Directors
The European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) has just successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), marking a year full of achievements for EuroCham, and elected a new 17-member Executive Board for the 2025 term.
The new Executive Board, which combines members from the previous term and new faces, will continue to build on EuroCham’s successes and advance its mission of strengthening economic ties between Europe and Vietnam. The leadership structure consists of nine directly elected members and eight members appointed from EuroCham’s national business associations.
Opening up new opportunities for growth and investment
Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Vietnam, Mr. Julien Guerrier, affirmed: EuroCham plays an important role in shaping policy dialogue to build a more sustainable business environment. Ambassador Guerrier also appreciated the close cooperation between the EU delegation and EuroCham, opening up many new opportunities for growth and investment.
Ambassador Guerrier emphasized: "EuroCham provides us with insights into the business environment, clearly reflecting the concerns of the business community, and shares the vision of a Vietnam with a more transparent, secure and attractive legal system for EU investors and exporters. We aim to build a business environment that is not only favorable but also sustainable - where businesses and investment flows can thrive."
EuroCham's Strategic Vision 2025
Looking ahead to the year ahead, EuroCham Chairman Bruno Jaspaert highlighted strategic priorities to further strengthen trade and investment relations between the EU and Vietnam. The immediate focus will be on important dialogues with the European Commission, with a EuroCham business delegation visiting Brussels this week.
Leading the delegation, President Jaspaert will participate in high-level meetings with the leaders of the European Commission, laying the foundations for the upcoming visit of President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen as well as a number of European Commissioners to Vietnam.
White Paper Coming Soon
Another important milestone in the coming period is the EuroCham Whitebook Launch in Hanoi on 11 April, with the expected attendance of EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič. This event not only demonstrates the sustained commitment to improving the investment climate, but also creates new momentum for deeper economic cooperation between the two regions.
“Vietnam is changing rapidly, and EuroCham must be at the forefront of adapting to these changes,” Chairman Jaspaert stressed, pledging: “Over the next 12 months, I will work with the new Board to deliver real value to our members – from multinational corporations to small and medium-sized enterprises – ensuring that they can thrive in a transparent and stable business environment.”
During the past six months as Chairman, Mr. Jaspaert has been actively promoting policy dialogue initiatives and strengthening cooperation with the Vietnamese Government, reinforcing EuroCham’s role as a strategic bridge between the European business community and policy makers.
Recognizing the great contributions of previous generations of leaders, Mr. Jaspaert affirmed his commitment to constantly innovate, enhance EuroCham's position, and continue to create a dynamic and sustainable business environment - where European businesses can not only succeed, but also contribute to the overall development of Vietnam.
