For nearly 2 weeks now, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nam's family in Nhuan Son village (Duy Phu commune) has been extremely excited to live in a new, spacious, clean and beautiful house.
Mrs. Nam's house was built on an area of 70m2 , according to level 4 standards, with a corrugated iron roof and a tiled floor. The total construction investment cost was 270 million VND, fully sponsored by Mr. Phan Ngoc Anh - Director of Phan Ngoc Anh Construction Materials Company Limited.
“I don’t have the means to build a house. Seeing that, the Duy Phu Commune Front mobilized Mr. Phan Ngoc Anh to support me with funds to build a new, solid house. I was very happy. From now on, I no longer have to worry when the rain and wind come,” Ms. Nam said.
Due to unstable employment, for many years, the family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Huong in Ban Son village (Duy Phu commune) has been living in constant poverty. Therefore, building a solid house to live in is something she has never dared to think about.
Understanding and sharing with Mrs. Huong, the Front and member organizations of Duy Phu commune mobilized funds, bricks, cement, sand and gravel to help Mrs. Huong's family build a new, solid house, no longer having to worry every time it rains or winds.
In recent years, many poor, near-poor, and other disadvantaged households in Duy Phu commune have also received support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hop - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Duy Phu commune said that the Front actively coordinated with relevant units, mobilized resources inside and outside the area to support timely funding to implement the demolition of temporary houses for people.
The supervision work before, during and after the implementation of housing construction is also of interest to the Duy Phu Commune Front, ensuring the right subjects, implementation progress and quality when building houses.
According to Ms. Hop, in the past 5 years, Duy Phu Commune Front has supported the repair and construction of 31 solidarity houses with a total amount of 1.6 billion VND. “With a sense of responsibility, high determination and the solidarity of the community, households living in temporary, dilapidated houses have gradually acquired new, spacious houses. These shelters give people more confidence and determination, helping them feel secure in their work and production, and escape poverty,” Ms. Hop shared.
