While domestic tourists are gradually decreasing due to the cold rainy season, Da Nang beach is attracting international tourists. From early morning to late afternoon, groups of tourists continuously flock to surf, making the beach lively.

Compared with beaches at home and abroad, Danang beach is considered to have many favorable conditions to play this extreme sport.

Groups of international tourists carry their boards to My An beach (Ngu Hanh Son district) to surf. From around 7am onwards, this beach area is bustling. Photo: Thanh Hien.
Everyone holds the board far away, then lies on the board facing the shore. Wait for the wave to rise high, then jump on the board, balance on both feet and surf. Taking advantage of the wave's push, the board will "run" very fast.
Skilled surfers love big waves. The stronger the wind, the bigger the waves, the more excitement and challenge they get to create "adventure" surfing moves. Robert (USA) shared that he has surfed on many beaches around the world and surfed at waves over 5m high. This was his first time surfing on the beach in Da Nang and he was quite surprised because this beach attracts a lot of locals and tourists.
Every day, Da Nang beach treats locals and tourists to beautiful surfing moments.
This extreme sport is also very popular with women. Newbies often practice near the shore, trying their hand at small waves.
A female tourist practices before getting into the water. Mr. Ngo Quang Thai, a board renter in the My An beach area, said that many female guests are very "excited", having never played before but still rent a board to try. Professional players will instruct them on how to lie on the board, swim, stand on the board, surf, handle situations... Photo: Thai Ngo.
Many female guests play very skillfully.
"Sisterhood" loves "wave riding". Ms. Ty Na (German of Vietnamese origin) said that she had surfed in Germany and when she returned to Da Nang, she was quite surprised because this sport was popular. According to her, the beach in Da Nang is very close, easy to move around, the waves are different every time so players can choose the level of surfing. "The seabed is full of sand, not rocks, corals... so it is very safe if you fall or flip your board. Moreover, there are lifeguards on duty here so I feel very secure", she said.
Professional players often use personal boards. Some short-term visitors choose to rent because buying them is very expensive, nearly 10 million VND. Recently, the service of renting surfboards on the beach in Da Nang has also flourished due to the large number of visitors. Before renting, the stalls must check the board, the rope, and apply anti-slip wax to the surface of the board to ensure the safety of the players.
Small players in front of the ocean, big waves. For many years, Da Nang has organized surfing competitions with the participation of domestic and foreign athletes. The competition area is at My An beach (Ngu Hanh Son district).
Da Nang Beach has the advantage of being close to the center. From An Thuong tourist area, also known as Western street, visitors only need to walk a few minutes to get there.
Thanks to this adventure sport, Da Nang beach is bustling with a variety of entertainment and recreation activities on the beach. The city also attracts more visitors during the cold rainy season.
