At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council dismissed comrade Nguyen Duc Trung from the position of Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term. Previously, on November 12, 2024, the Politburo issued a Decision approving comrade Nguyen Duc Trung to hold the position of Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Next, the Provincial People's Council conducted the election process for the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province for the 2021-2026 term. As a result, comrade Le Hong Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, was elected as Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province for the 2021-2026 term with 100% of delegates attending the meeting in agreement. The new Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province was born in 1974, from Do Luong district; has a Master's degree in Science and Technology Management, and a Senior Degree in Political Theory. Before being elected as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, comrade Le Hong Vinh had held many positions in the locality such as: Deputy Director of the Department of Transport; Secretary of Anh Son District Party Committee; Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council.

Speaking at the reception of the new assignment, the new Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Le Hong Vinh, respectfully thanked the delegates of the Provincial People's Council, on behalf of the voters and the people of Nghe An province, for trusting and electing him to the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Being elected to the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee is a great honor, but also a heavy responsibility. He expressed his high determination and great efforts to respond to that trust and expectation. In his position as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, he will continue to inherit, learn and promote the achievements of previous generations of leaders; at the same time, strive to study and practice in all aspects with the highest capacity, thoroughly, scientifically and fully research and seriously implement the Party's policies and the State's laws; fully perform the duties and powers as prescribed by law.

Together with the Provincial People's Committee, we are always united, innovative, creative, determined and resolute in the direction and administration work, aiming to create new momentum to promote the province's socio-economic development rapidly and sustainably. Focus on directing the implementation to complete and exceed the goals and targets of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, effectively implementing the policies of the Party, the State and the specific policies of the National Assembly and the Government for Nghe An province to contribute to bringing Nghe An along with the whole country to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; coordinate to prepare conditions for the successful organization of Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress. In his closing speech, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Nghia Hieu emphasized: With the spirit of democracy, impartiality, objectivity and high responsibility to voters, at this session, the Provincial People's Council elected the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in accordance with the provisions of law with the consensus and high number of votes of confidence of the Provincial People's Council delegates attending the session. The Provincial People's Council requested the new Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to inherit and promote the achievements gained in the past time, continue to innovate in the leadership, direction and operation of the Provincial People's Committee to successfully implement the goals and targets of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security of the province. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council affirmed: 2025 is a year of special importance, a year of acceleration and breakthrough to complete the goals and targets of socio-economic development for the 5 years 2021 - 2025, creating a premise for the implementation of the socio-economic development plan in the following period. The Government and the Prime Minister have directed the implementation of tasks from the beginning of the year, "striving for double-digit economic growth in 2025".
