Currently, the whole province has 3 Cooperative Unions and 1,087 Cooperatives, of which 710 are operating and have declared taxes, are among the localities with the fastest growing number of cooperatives in the country. Cooperatives in the province are developing in depth, dynamically, with quality, efficiency, and sustainability, with many cooperation and association models. Cooperatives are mobilizing over 3,500 billion VND for production and business, contributing 1.2% of GRDP to the provincial economy; creating jobs for nearly 75,000 workers, accounting for 10.9% of the province's workforce, and are an important resource in economic development.

Among the cooperatives in operation, 71% of them operate in the agricultural sector, which is an important driving force in the agricultural production system, aquaculture, marine farming, and OCOP product development of the province. Cooperatives are developing according to the value chain model, providing raw materials, initial processing, investing in machinery and equipment, and applying science and technology to production, which is the foundation for linking the chain of agricultural commodity production.

In the private economic sector, cooperatives have developed in a variety of fields and professions, spread throughout the province, creating a production movement, creating jobs, contributing to the effective implementation of three National Target Programs on Sustainable Poverty Reduction; building new rural areas; developing the economy and society of ethnic minorities, border areas, mountainous areas, islands and political stability, ensuring national defense and security at the grassroots level.

At the meeting, the Cooperative Union and representatives of cooperatives discussed and proposed solutions to remove difficulties, promote cooperative activities in the coming time, and contribute more to the socio-economic development of the province such as: some difficulties in credit policies, land, sea transfer procedures to expand and promote aquaculture production...; At the same time, it was suggested that the province have policies to support connecting and finding outputs for products, forming supply chains, training and applying science and technology to production and development...

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the efforts and proactive spirit of the Cooperative Union and enterprises that have actively produced, innovated business models, and contributed to the overall economic development of the province.

He emphasized that cooperatives have become a channel to mobilize resources from the people, an important economic sector for development, production, business, job creation, income increase, and socio-economic development. Therefore, the development of cooperative economy is a key task that needs to be innovated and promoted for development.

On that basis, he suggested that relevant units should step up coordination, accompany and support cooperatives to overcome difficulties, apply technology... to improve production capacity and quality. During the implementation process, it is necessary to pay attention to promoting production organization and centralized production management model, participating in production linkage in cooperatives, promoting cooperative mergers to create a trend of linkage, consolidation and merger to be the driving force for cooperatives to develop.

In addition, the organization of production of cooperatives will create a green economic belt for the development of Quang Ninh urban areas in a green and sustainable direction; create stable jobs for the local labor force... Therefore, it is necessary to have a modern service and industrial structure, apply a model of developing modern cooperatives to help the investment and association of enterprises develop steadily, reduce input costs, and produce highly competitive products; help society reduce consumption costs, increase accumulation and social equity.

He noted that it is necessary to focus on building a team of key cooperative officials in the province with quality, practical production and market knowledge; promote training and application of science and technology so that cooperatives can develop criteria according to world trends, research and develop a model of happy cooperatives...
