From March 15, 2025, implementing the Government's policy, the Quang Ninh Provincial Customs Department was reorganized into the Regional Customs Branch VIII. Immediately after the reorganization, the Branch quickly stabilized its operations and ensured that the new apparatus served the people and businesses more conveniently, effectively and efficiently than before.
The Department also actively accompanies and supports businesses in carrying out import and export procedures at border gates in the province; proactively reviews, recommends and proposes administrative procedure reforms and reduces paperwork to facilitate import and export activities; requests local border authorities to discuss and sign specific agreements with Chinese counterparts to improve customs clearance efficiency at border gates and customs clearance routes in the province...
By the end of the first quarter of 2025, the total number of import-export declarations reached nearly 33,000 (an increase of 22% over the same period in 2024); the total import-export turnover reached 3.71 billion USD (an increase of 5% over the same period in 2024); the number of import-export enterprises reached 1,294 enterprises (an increase of 38% over the same period in 2024); the total state budget revenue reached over 4,280 billion VND (an increase of 90% over the same period in 2024, reaching 24% of the assigned plan).
At the conference, representatives of the Customs Branch of Region VIII informed and disseminated to businesses some contents that need attention such as: Global and regional trade policies; fluctuations in the world political and economic situation; some changes in the organization, apparatus, functions, tasks and powers of Customs from March 15, 2025; some new regulations related to import and export activities...
In particular, before the impact of the new US tax policy on Vietnamese goods, in the discussion section, many enterprises in the province had opinions related to the State's policies; the Customs sector's plan; support for foreign enterprises investing in Vietnam...
In addition, many businesses also commented on opening export declarations, trade promotion, VAT exemption and reduction, improving logistics capacity at Mong Cai international border gate area, reducing wharfage costs in Mong Cai city, difficulties in inspection work, etc.
Questions and difficulties of enterprises were shared, discussed, satisfactorily answered and directly guided to be resolved by the leaders of Customs Branch VIII and related departments, branches and units at the conference.
The leaders of the Customs Branch of Region VIII also affirmed that, in the spirit of reform, taking enterprises as the center, all difficulties of enterprises will always be listened to and resolved. The Branch will continue to implement innovative activities, digital transformation, and digital technology application to better serve people and enterprises in the process of carrying out customs procedures. At the same time, together with the whole industry, it will focus on implementing the Government's direction on ensuring a reduction of at least 30% of administrative procedure processing time, at least 30% of business costs, abolishing 30% of unnecessary business conditions, and carrying out procedures related to enterprises in the electronic environment, ensuring smoothness, continuity, and efficiency. Thereby helping enterprises to operate sustainably, with high added value, contributing to local economic growth.
