According to the schedule, the Vietnamese team will play two friendly matches against China (October 10) and Uzbekistan (October 13). After that, Quang Hai and his teammates will continue to Korea to face the Korean team on October 17.
This afternoon (October 8), the Vietnamese team arrived in Dalian city (China), preparing for the match against the host team on October 10.

Since many players on the call-up list will only join the team close to the departure date, in order to make the most of their time for professional activities, Coach Philippe Troussier suggested that VFF arrange an evening flight for the team. This will help the players have an extra training session when they arrive in Dalian (China) instead of just one session if they travel during the day.
After lunch, coach Philippe Troussier announced the team's schedule. He reminded the players to take advantage of the rest to recover best before entering the first training session in Dalian, taking place at 7:00 p.m. the same day.
Before going to China, coach Philippe Troussier reduced the list of Vietnam team to 28 players. Six players were eliminated, including four young faces of the U23 team: Le Van Do, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Duc Phu and Nguyen Duc Anh. The two players over 23 years old were Van Hau (injured) and Ho Tan Tai. In addition, Mr. Troussier added Vo Minh Trong to the team list.
"This shortlist reflects the players selected based on their current form, fitness and their performances during their time at the club in recent matches. I do not select players based solely on their reputation or name," said coach Philippe Troussier.
According to the latest information from the Vietnam Football Federation, FIFA regulations stipulate that each team cannot play more than 2 matches in the FIFA Days international friendly series. Therefore, one of the 3 matches of the Vietnam team during the FIFA Days in October will not be considered a match for FIFA ranking points.
Based on the above regulations, the Vietnamese team has chosen the match against the Chinese team (October 10) and the match against the Korean team (October 17) as two official international friendly matches on the occasion of FIFA Days in October.
The match against Uzbekistan (October 13) was agreed by both teams to be a non-FIFA Days match in October. This match is mainly for the professional work of the two teams' coaching staff, so it will be played in an empty stadium, with no media coverage. The result of the match will not be counted towards FIFA rankings.
