German businesses want to invest more in Binh Duong because the locality has industrial parks that provide a good service environment, infrastructure and are close to Ho Chi Minh City.
On March 19, in Binh Duong, leaders of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee met with the Association of German Enterprises in Vietnam and representatives of 40 German enterprises to explore investment opportunities in Binh Duong.

Informing investors, Mr. Le Thanh Toan, Deputy Director of Binh Duong Department of Planning and Investment, said that there are currently 18 projects of German enterprises in Binh Duong with a total investment capital of nearly 50.7 million USD.
The main investment fields of German enterprises are the manufacturing and processing industry, including typical projects such as: VNPT-Siemens Telecommunication Equipment Company Project; Hasan-Dermapharm Joint Venture Company Limited factory; Messer Vietnam Industrial Gas Company Limited; Siemens factory project in Binh Duong...
On behalf of German businesses, Mr. Alexander Ziehe, Chairman of the Association of German Enterprises in Vietnam, said that the main reason German investors consider Binh Duong a potential investment location is because it is close to Ho Chi Minh City seaports. The province also has a developed supplier system and a qualified workforce.
Furthermore, most of Binh Duong’s industrial parks provide good service environment and infrastructure. The province also has attractive tax incentives. These are the main reasons for German enterprises to decide to invest in Binh Duong.
One of the areas that German investors are most interested in when looking to invest in Binh Duong is the development of solar energy systems on factory roofs.
A German company representative asked: "I am interested in knowing if there is an opportunity to install a rooftop solar system in an industrial park? Is there any new information about direct electricity purchase and rooftop solar power of the factory?"

At the meeting with leaders of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, German enterprises proposed that the locality continue to prioritize solving infrastructure issues, especially the main roads connecting Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, businesses also hope that the province will continue to simplify customs procedures; import-export clearance procedures; regulations on granting work permits to foreigners; and regulations on fire prevention and fighting in factories.
Some businesses that have invested in Binh Duong recommend that the locality should notify businesses of changes and issue new policies at least 3 months in advance and clearly announce all changes on media in both Vietnamese and English.
After listening to the German businesses' recommendations, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, pledged that the local government will create the most favorable conditions for businesses; always accompany and support in terms of policies, invest in modern infrastructure to ensure that foreign businesses in general and German businesses in particular can feel secure in investing, producing and doing business in the province.
Binh Duong provincial leaders hope that after this visit and working session, German enterprises will consider and decide to invest in high-tech projects in the locality.
