(NLDO) - Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien congratulated Archbishop Nguyen Nang, priests, religious, and parishioners on Christmas.


On December 22, a delegation of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front led by Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee - visited and congratulated religious establishments and outstanding individuals on the occasion of Christmas 2024.

The delegation visited and wished a Merry Christmas to Archbishop Nguyen Nang, priests, religious, and parishioners in the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City.

Joining the delegation were Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization Do Van Phon; Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front To Thi Bich Chau; Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai; Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Huynh Thanh Nhan.

Visiting and wishing Christmas at the Archbishop's Palace of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Do Van Chien sent his wishes of peace, joy, happiness, fullness of God's grace and a good New Year 2025 to Archbishop Nguyen Nang, priests, religious, and parishioners in the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City and Catholics nationwide.

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien acknowledged and highly appreciated the companionship of the Archbishop, priests, dignitaries and Catholic compatriots, along with the joint efforts of the entire Party, army and people to complete the socio-economic tasks in 2024; carry out many positive activities in social work and environmental protection, contributing to the country's encouraging achievements.

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien expressed his hope that Archbishop Nguyen Nang, priests, monks and Catholics would continue to promote the tradition of living a "good life - good religion", accompanying the nation, strictly implementing the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; uniting religions, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc in the cause of national construction and development in the era of national development.

Mr. Do Van Chien suggested that Archbishop Nguyen Nang and other priests and Catholic dignitaries continue to guide and mobilize monks and Catholics to preserve, promote and spread the cultural and ethical values ​​of the nation; actively participate in programs and campaigns launched by the State and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, especially in environmental protection, contributing to the development of Ho Chi Minh City and the country.

The delegation visited and congratulated Knight of the Grand Cross Le Duc Thinh.

Archbishop Nguyen Nang expressed his joy and pride in the great achievements the country has made in the past year. Archbishop Nguyen Nang said he will continue to encourage Catholic dignitaries and compatriots to always support and accompany the Party and State, well implement the State's policies and laws, live a "good life - good religion", and actively participate in patriotic emulation movements organized by the State and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Archbishop Nguyen Nang affirmed that Catholics in the Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese and Catholics nationwide always promote the charitable tradition of patriotic Catholics, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, especially in environmental protection, improve people's quality of life, join hands with the people of the city and the people nationwide to build the country to become more and more developed.

On the same day, the delegation visited and congratulated Grand Cross Knight Le Duc Thinh on Christmas.

Awarding the Third Class Labor Medal to Priest Peter Phan Khac Tu

On December 22, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee held a ceremony to award the Third Class Labor Medal of the President to Father Peter Phan Khac Tu, former Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Catholic Solidarity Committee.

Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee; Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Ms. Tran Kim Yen, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Commission; Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

According to Decision No. 1266/QD-CTN dated November 21, 2024 of the President, the Third Class Labor Medal was awarded to Priest Peter Phan Khac Tu for his outstanding achievements in mobilizing Catholics to participate in building national unity and social charity activities.
