Candidates need to pay attention to the regulations on admission based on the ability assessment exam scores of each school.

What should candidates pay attention to when considering admission based on ability test scores?

Currently, universities have announced the minimum admission score based on the assessment score of the competency test organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Accordingly, the scores for receiving applications from most schools are around 600 (total score of the entire exam is 1,200 points). For example, the University of Information Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) accepts applications from 600 points for all majors. The University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) announced the threshold score for receiving applications for admission with a combination of many criteria, in which the score of the competency assessment test is from 600 points or higher...

Schools outside the Ho Chi Minh City National University system also have different regulations on the score for receiving applications. Foreign Trade University accepts applications from 850 points, National Economics University from 700 points.

Some member schools of Hanoi National University also consider the results of the competency assessment test of Ho Chi Minh City National University but set a fairly high admission threshold: University of Education from 750 points; University of Management and Business 750-760 points depending on the major...

Many universities set different admission scores for different training institutions or by major. For example, among the 35 majors of Tay Nguyen University, the school only accepts applications from candidates with an exam score of 850 or higher for the medical major; 700 or higher for nursing, medical laboratory technology, and teacher training majors (except physical education); 600 or higher for other majors... Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry accepts applications from 650 points for majors in Ho Chi Minh City and 600 points for majors at Quang Ngai Branch. In particular, for the pharmaceutical major, candidates need to have excellent academic performance in grade 12 or a graduation score of 8.0 or higher according to the general regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

However, candidates need to pay attention to the time for receiving application documents for the assessment test scores according to the regulations of each school. Some universities only consider candidates who took the first round of exams and have now closed the application period, such as: Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, etc.

Previously, the first round of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam had 93,828 candidates taking the exam. The candidate with the highest score was 1,076 points and the candidate with the lowest score was 203.
