Accordingly, the rate of candidates admitted to school by each specific method is as follows: Direct admission, priority admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training accounts for 1.6%; Priority admission according to regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University accounts for 9.6%; Considering the scores of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment exam (using the capacity assessment exam scores independently or in combination) accounts for 38.65%; Considering the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam accounts for 46.7%; Other methods at the unit under the responsibility of the admission council of autonomous units account for 3.89%.

From the above statistical results, it can be seen that the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, although having the highest rate of admission in 2024, has decreased sharply compared to many previous years. In the past 3 years, this method only accounted for over 40% of the total enrollment target, while in 2020, this method had over 74% of admitted candidates.
Also playing an important role, the admission method using the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam scores increases every year. From 19.5% of the target in 2020, it will increase to 38.85% by 2024.
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City National University plans to reduce the number of university admission methods to 3. Specifically, they include: direct admission; admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University; admission based on the results of the high school exam.
