(NLDO) - The violations of the three leaders of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Ngai are all at a level that requires consideration and disciplinary action.
On December 13, the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee issued a press release on the 29th session of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee (term XX).
According to this announcement, through review and conclusion of the inspection when there were signs of violations against the Party Committee of the Department of Science and Technology (KH&CN) and Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Provincial Party Committee member, Party Committee Secretary, Director of the Department; Tran Cong Hoa, Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Party Committee Inspection Committee, Deputy Director of the Department; Phan Van Hieu, Party member, Deputy Director of the Department, the Provincial Party Committee Inspection Committee found that:
The Party Committee of the Department of Science and Technology for the 2017-2020 and 2020-2025 terms lacked responsibility in leadership, direction, inspection and supervision, allowing the Department of Science and Technology and a number of Party members to commit violations and shortcomings in implementing the Working Regulations of the Department's Party Committee, regulations and statutes of the Department; advising the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on the management of scientific research and technological development activities and in implementing the conclusions of inspection, supervision and handling of denunciations of competent authorities.

Violations and shortcomings of the Party Committee of the Department of Science and Technology for the 2017-2020 and 2020-2025 terms must be reviewed and responsibilities considered.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, is responsible as the head for the violations and shortcomings of the Party Committee and the collective leadership of the Department of Science and Technology; lack of responsibility in leadership, direction, and management, allowing violations and shortcomings in implementing the Working Regulations of the Department's Party Committee; advising the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on managing scientific research and technological development activities and in implementing the conclusions of inspection, supervision, and handling of denunciations of competent authorities.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh's violations and shortcomings are serious enough to warrant disciplinary action.
Mr. Tran Cong Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Party Committee's Inspection Commission for the 2020-2025 term, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, is partly responsible for the violations and shortcomings of the Party Committee and the collective leadership of the Department of Science and Technology; is responsible for not promptly advising and proposing to the Party Committee and the Department's leadership in implementing the conclusions of inspection, supervision, and handling of denunciations of competent authorities.
Mr. Tran Cong Hoa's violations and shortcomings must be reviewed and his responsibilities considered.
Mr. Phan Van Hieu, Party member, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, is partly responsible for the violations and shortcomings of the collective leadership of the Department of Science and Technology; lack of responsibility, failure to seriously perform the duties of a Party member, the Regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do, the regulations and working rules of the Department and in implementing the inspection and supervision conclusions of competent authorities.
Mr. Phan Van Hieu's violations and shortcomings are serious enough to warrant consideration and disciplinary action.
Previously, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province also issued a decision on disciplinary action against Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of the Department of Science and Technology.
According to the above decision, Mr. Thanh was disciplined with a reprimand, the disciplinary period is 12 months from November 15, 2024.
Previously, in December 2023, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province also signed and issued 2 conclusions on the denunciations related to Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh.
Specifically, Mr. Thanh committed a series of violations in advising the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to directly assign 22 science and technology tasks to be implemented in the 2016-2021 period; advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue regulations on managing science and technology tasks at the provincial and grassroots levels using the provincial budget, which is not in accordance with the law.
Mr. Thanh also advised the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to issue a decision to invest in and purchase equipment for the biotechnology laboratory but did not use it, causing a waste of state budget money...
