On December 25, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union held a meeting of the Executive Board of the Project "Supporting cooperatives managed by women, creating jobs for female workers by 2030" to develop a draft report assessing the results of activities in 2024 and proposing directions and plans for activities in 2025.

According to the draft report on the assessment of the 2024 performance results of the Executive Board of the Project "Supporting cooperatives managed by women, creating jobs for female workers by 2030" (Project 01), as of December 15, 2024, the Women's Union at all levels has mobilized and supported the establishment of 246 new cooperatives managed by women (reaching 328% of the 2024 plan), attracting over 2,268 female members, creating jobs for 6,279 female workers.

The average income of cooperative members is 5 million VND/month, the average income of workers is 2 - 3 million VND/month.

Participating in cooperatives and cooperative groups (THT) has helped members and women form the need for linkage in production, reduce input costs for production, increase selling prices for output products; Members, members and women are able to participate in training courses to improve capacity, share experiences, receive support in registering trademarks for local products, and are connected to support loans to invest in purchasing production equipment to increase productivity and product quality, bring economic benefits to member households, solve employment and social issues in the locality, contribute to building new rural areas...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuc Hanh, Member of the Presidium, Head of the Committee for Supporting Women in Economic Development, Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, spoke at the meeting.

At the meeting, members of the Project Steering Committee discussed the advantages, limitations and causes of limitations in implementing the Project in 2024.

Despite the remarkable achievements, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the Department of Supporting Women in Economic Development, Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, frankly pointed out that the work of mobilizing and propagating members and women to participate in the collective economy and cooperatives has not really met practical requirements. In addition, some Party committees, authorities and people have not yet recognized the important position of the collective economy and cooperatives for the local socio-economy and the role of women in the development of the collective economy and cooperatives.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the Department of Supporting Women in Economic Development, Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee and Mr. Dang Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Planning and Investment, spoke.

Accordingly, the Executive Board also plans to set a target for 2025 of consolidating and improving the quality and efficiency of operations for at least 250 cooperatives and 1,500 cooperative groups managed and operated by women, supported by the association at all levels; Creating stable jobs for 5,000 members and female workers in cooperatives; 15,000 female workers in cooperatives. 100% of female managers of cooperatives are trained and have improved management and operational capacity in accordance with the business management activities of cooperatives; training and fostering for members, workers in cooperatives, members, and women who want to participate in the development of collective economy and cooperatives.

Mr. Nguyen Le Binh, Deputy Chief of the National Office for Poverty Reduction, Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and Ms. Pham Thi To Oanh, Head of the Cooperative Policy and Development Department, Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, spoke.

Concluding the meeting, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Tran Lan Phuong affirmed that Project 01 is of great significance to the participation of women in the collective economic sector, so it requires the participation of all levels and sectors. This is the first project on the collective economy that takes into account the characteristics of women, and is one of the solutions to promote the role of women in the development of the collective economy.

Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Tran Lan Phuong emphasized that in 2025, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union will continue to advise and support cooperatives managed and operated by women to continue to consolidate and improve the quality and efficiency of their operations. In particular, it will advise on removing obstacles to support cooperatives in accessing credit to develop production and business.
