At around 9am this morning, May 14, tour guide Nguyen Van Duy took a group of tourists to visit Mui Dien, in Vung Ro village, Hoa Xuan Nam commune, Dong Hoa town (Phu Yen), the place that welcomes the first sunrise on the mainland of Vietnam, and discovered a school of about 15-20 dolphins swimming in the distance.

When discovered, Mr. Duy shouted "There's a school of dolphins!", so tourists had time to admire the school of dolphins swimming around.
Mr. Duy said that according to his observation, the school of fish swam from Hon Nua to the north towards Mui Dien. Mr. Duy and the tourists only filmed a short clip of the moment the school of dolphins swam past Mui Dien and then were hidden by the rocks.
Tourists visiting Mui Dien
According to Mr. Duy, this was the first time he had seen such a large school of dolphins. When seeing the school of dolphins, the tourists seemed very excited.
35 km southeast of Tuy Hoa City, Mui Dien (also known as Mui Dai Lanh) was discovered by a French general named Varella, so it was formerly known as Cap Varella. This is a famous tourist attraction in Vietnam and was recognized as a national scenic relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2008. Mui Dien is the place to welcome the first sunrise on the mainland of Vietnam. Currently, Phu Yen province annually organizes a flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the new year here.
