In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will discuss with the General Administration of Customs of China to finalize the draft protocol on the requirements for importing chili and traditional fresh fruits of Vietnam (except bananas) into the Chinese market; hold an online meeting with the General Administration of Customs of China on Orders 248 and 249 to remove difficulties and obstacles in export. At the same time, the Ministry will organize to welcome and work with the EU inspection delegation to evaluate the food safety control system of aquatic products and aquatic product processing enterprises of Vietnam...
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first 6 months of 2023, Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery exports reached 24.59 billion USD, down 11.1% over the same period in 2022. Of which, the main agricultural products increased by 12%; livestock products increased by 26.5%; aquatic products decreased by 27.4%; main forestry products decreased by 28.2%. Vietnam's main export markets continue to be China, the United States and Japan. Of which, the export value to China accounted for 21.4%, the United States accounted for 20.2% and Japan accounted for 7.7%.
The Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that 7 products and product groups had an export value of over 1 billion USD in 6 months: coffee, rubber, rice, vegetables, cashew nuts, shrimp, and wood products. Of which, rice and cashew nuts are 2 products that increased both export volume and value: rice increased 22.2% in volume, 34.7% in export value; cashew nuts increased 10.5% in volume, 7.7% in export value.
