Dak Lak won first prize in the 2025 Farmers' Competition

On the evening of March 11, at 10/3 Square, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak coordinated with Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, the National Agricultural Extension Center, the Central Highlands Agricultural and Forestry Science and Technology Institute and the Vietnam Television Center for the Central Highlands - Central Region (VTV8) to organize the Final Round of the 2025 Farmers' Competition.

Attending the Final round of the contest were comrades: Pham Ngoc Nghi - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Hoai Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Vo Van Canh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Media Ambassador of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, 2025 - Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, Top 5 Miss Universe 2018 H'Hen Nie; representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors along with a large number of people and tourists inside and outside the province.

This year's competition has the participation of 7 teams including members who are coffee farmers living in 7 provinces: Son La, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, Binh Phuoc and Dak Lak.

Through the preliminary round held at the CADA Plantation Historical and Cultural Relic Site, Ea Yong Commune, Krong Pac District, the Organizing Committee selected the best teams to enter the final round of the 2025 Farmers' Competition, including: Kon Tum, Binh Phuoc, Son La, Dak Lak.

The teams went through 4 rounds: Hello Farmer, Smart Farmer; Connected Farmer; Challenged Farmer. The contest content is knowledge, skills, experience and understanding of applying scientific and technological advances to smart coffee production and issues related to processing, market, certified production cooperation, formation and development of linkage chains in the Vietnamese coffee industry.

Speaking at the Final Round of the competition, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van emphasized that the Farmers' Competition with the theme "Smart Coffee Cultivation" is one of the important official activities of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025.

The contest is a useful and practical playground to raise awareness and capacity for officials and farmer members in agricultural development and new rural construction; honor and motivate good coffee farmers, create an atmosphere of competition and learning, organize agricultural production development and promote propaganda to promote the application of scientific and technical advances, promote certified production linkages, digital transformation of agriculture, form and develop sustainable coffee production chains, contributing to enhancing the Vietnamese coffee brand.

This is also a useful and practical playground to create conditions for coffee farmers in the Central Highlands and other provinces to meet, exchange and share experiences in coffee production; act as a bridge for scientists, experts and technical staff to share smart and effective farming solutions to help coffee farmers reduce costs, increase productivity, quality and profits.

Presented a Smart Coffee Cultivation Technical Solution Package worth 200 million VND to the Dak Lak team.

At the end of the competition, the Dak Lak team won the first prize, the second prize went to the Son La team; the third prize went to the Kon Tum and Binh Phuoc teams; the encouragement prizes went to the teams: Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Lam Dong.

The Organizing Committee also awarded the most impressive “Hello Farmer” prize to the Dak Lak team; awarded Smart Coffee Cultivation Technical Solution Packages including technical processes, fertilizers, and equipment worth 200 million VND to the Dak Lak team; worth 100 million VND to the Son La team and worth 50 million VND to the Kon Tum and Binh Phuoc teams.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Ngoc Nghi and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van presented funds to support farmers with housing difficulties to the provinces.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee of the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory, the liberation of Dak Lak province (March 10, 1975 - March 10, 2025) and the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 presented funding to support farmers with housing difficulties to the Farmers' Association of 7 provinces participating in the contest, worth 200 million VND/province.
