In the first 7 months of 2024, Dak Lak province faced many challenges but also achieved many remarkable achievements.
The total value of the local product (GRDP) is estimated at VND 25,493 billion, up 4.13% over the same period in 2023. Exports reached 1.13 billion USD, up 25.4%. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue reached nearly VND 63 trillion, up 9.52%. Total state budget revenue reached VND 4,500 billion, and public investment disbursement reached 38.9% of the 2024 plan, 10.7% higher than the same period last year.
Regarding the results of implementing the Resolution of the 17th Dak Lak Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025, by the end of 2023, the province has achieved and exceeded 10/16 targets. In the 3 years of 2021-2023, each industry and field has had positive developments.
During this period, Dak Lak decided to invest in 58 projects with a total registered capital of VND29 trillion and attracted 13 FDI projects with a registered capital of USD515 million. The total value of agricultural products reached VND70 trillion, equal to 62.56% of the 5-year plan, with an average increase of 6%/year.
Industry maintained a good growth rate, gradually exploiting the potential and advantages of the province, especially developing renewable energy. Tourism welcomed 3 million visitors, equal to 67.3% of the plan. Creating jobs for over 100,000 people, equal to 67.3% of the plan. Administrative reform was focused on and made much progress. Dak Lak's administrative reform index in 2023 ranked 28th out of 63 provinces and centrally run cities.
Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised and highly appreciated the results that Dak Lak province has achieved, and affirmed that Dak Lak has many potentials, advantages and outstanding opportunities to become a rich, beautiful, civilized and modern province.
In the coming time, the Prime Minister requested Dak Lak province to continue to concretize the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, Resolution 23 of the Politburo on socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Central Highlands, promoting the spirit of solidarity, self-reliance, self-reliance, rapid and sustainable development based on science, technology, and innovation.
In particular, the Prime Minister requested the province to focus on planning and building stable raw material areas, developing product brands, and applying science and technology to production and post-harvest preservation. This is especially important for the province's key products such as coffee, pepper, rubber, and durian.
To ensure sustainable development, the Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of developing infrastructure, attracting key projects, and improving the efficiency of public investment management. In addition, the province needs to promote administrative reform, build a streamlined government apparatus, and focus on improving the quality of life of the people.
The Prime Minister concluded that Dak Lak needs to continue promoting its internal strength with innovative thinking and taking people as the root, so that people can have a prosperous and happy life and contribute to the comprehensive development of the province.
