"The electronic lock allows me to easily connect to my phone via the app, allowing remote control. This allows me to control my house at all times and know who is coming in and out at any time," Mr. Quan shared.
It can be seen that electronic door locks are increasingly popular due to their superior security and convenience features compared to traditional door locks. Consumers are increasingly interested in security and safety products, and also prefer devices that can connect to smartphones and other smart home systems.
For the Vietnamese market, smart electronic lock products have been diversified in terms of types, designs and prices. The door lock market in Vietnam is increasingly reaching more customer groups, no longer limited to high-income customers or construction contractors.
According to the representative of Ssehome Smart Device Co., Ltd., smart door lock products are currently mainly imported from China and Korea, along with some domestically produced products. Korea has a rate of apartments using smart door locks of up to 70%, with simple design and stable quality.
Meanwhile, China is the leading supplier to the Vietnamese market thanks to its competitive prices, aesthetics and advanced technology. Many Chinese brands have applied new technology and eye-catching designs, increasing competitiveness.
The product price is usually from 10 to 30 million VND, for those who love technology and luxury, investing in this product is reasonable. The smart door lock market is growing strongly and attracting great attention from consumers.
Representatives of many businesses shared that in the battle for market share and customers, one of the major difficulties that many Vietnamese businesses face is having to compete fiercely with imported goods, with the market encroachment from foreign businesses. Big brands such as Samsung, Yale, or domestic brands will compete fiercely on price and features.
However, many domestic enterprises have risen to successfully dominate the market, spectacularly and convincingly surpassing similar foreign products.
Domestic smart door lock manufacturers are constantly improving their products with features such as fingerprint unlocking, facial recognition, or remote control via application, creating appeal and convenience for consumers.
Continue to grow strongly
Many experts believe that the smart door lock market in Vietnam in 2025 is expected to continue to grow strongly, thanks to the increased demand for security and convenience in homes and businesses.
With the development of high-end real estate projects and smart apartments, the demand for advanced security solutions, such as smart door locks, will increase. Along with the increasing application of technology in families and businesses, smart door locks will become an important part of the smart home ecosystem, helping to enhance the experience and convenience for users.
However, besides opportunities, the market also faces challenges such as security issues when malware supported by artificial intelligence (AI) is being developed to automatically search for vulnerabilities in devices as well as high initial investment costs.
Master Pham Ngoc Trung acknowledged that Vietnam is witnessing an increase in the trend of using smart home devices and the Internet of Things (IoT). Smart door locks will be an important part of the smart home ecosystem, bringing convenience and safety to users.
However, domestic enterprises can break through, manufacturers need to improve prices and increase the reliability of products. In addition, the cost of electronic locking devices is relatively high compared to traditional mechanical locks. In addition, skepticism about the origin or some people still do not know about the product are barriers to consumers buying smart lock products.
