New rural light Dak Ha
After just a few days of campaigning, many roads in Dak Ha commune, Dak Glong district have been covered with light bulbs, helping people travel conveniently at night.

Previously, in the evening, people in the commune were often afraid to go out because the roads were narrow, the alleys were dark, and it was difficult to move around. To ensure people's travel and daily activities, in early 2025, the Dak Ha commune government launched the construction of the "Rural Light" model.
Thanks to this model, 460 LED light poles were installed on main roads in the village in a short time, equivalent to a cost of 676 million VND. All of this cost was mobilized from contributions from the people.

“In the past, few people dared to go out at night. Now that the street lights are on, the atmosphere in the village is much more cheerful. People walk and exercise more along the road. The beauty of the new rural commune has been improved,” Ms. Bui Thi Oanh, a resident of village 1, Dak Ha commune, happily shared.
The implementation of the model also contributes to changing the appearance of the locality. On village and hamlet roads, the lights are turned on from 6:00 p.m. every day. The street lights spread out to the entire residential area.

Responding to the model, Mrs. Tran Thi Thu Thuy's family in village 8 also spent 1.5 million VND to install LED lights in front of their house. Now with the lights, her family's evening business is much more vibrant. The deserted street is now more crowded and bustling.
For areas with sparse housing, the model has helped people feel more secure in their work and production. Mr. K'Sieng, a resident of village 3, shared: "Since the lights are on, children go to school and play without fear of the dark. People who come home late from work in the fields are less rushed; there is no longer the worry of theft of agricultural products at night when drying them."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Que, Secretary of the Dak Ha Commune Party Committee, said: “The “Rural Light” model not only helps people travel conveniently, but also contributes to ensuring security and order in the area. In the coming time, we will continue to promote and mobilize people to join hands to replicate the “Rural Light” model to the remaining areas.”
Dak Glong district aims to have one more NTM commune by 2025. The remaining communes will meet 15 or more NTM criteria. Quang Khe commune will meet 8/19 advanced NTM commune criteria; Dak Ha will meet 6/19 advanced NTM commune criteria.
Towards sustainable new countryside
Dak Glong strives to achieve 1-2 more criteria for the set of new rural district criteria by the end of 2025.

Quang Son and Dak Som communes registered to strive to meet the NTM standards by 2026-2027. The remaining communes met over 15 criteria. For the NTM village criteria set in the district's particularly disadvantaged communes, the district strives to have 5 more villages and hamlets meet the standards.
To achieve this goal, the district is focusing on promoting propaganda to raise people's awareness of the NTM program. At the same time, the district supports agricultural cooperatives to promote production according to sustainable value chains.

The locality continues to invest in and upgrade essential infrastructure such as roads, water, schools, medical stations, etc. to ensure the best living and production conditions for the people.
Mr. Doan Van Phuong, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, informed that to realize the set goals, Dak Glong is focusing on solutions to develop the rural economy and increase people's income. The local government encourages the development of high-tech production models, supports cooperatives and organizes linkages in the consumption of agricultural products.

The implementation of vocational training programs and the transfer of science and technology to rural workers has also been promoted. The district continues to coordinate with credit organizations to help people access preferential capital sources to serve production and business.
In addition, the district focuses on protecting the rural environment by promoting waste collection, building wastewater treatment systems, and promoting environmental protection awareness in the community.

With the determination of the government and the consensus of the people, Dak Glong is gradually realizing the goal of building a sustainable new rural area, contributing to improving economic and social life and creating a solid foundation for development in the coming time.
By the end of 2024, on average, each commune in Dak Glong district will achieve 12.9 NTM criteria; there will be no communes achieving less than 10 criteria. Of which, 4 communes will achieve 14 criteria, 1 commune will achieve 15 criteria.
