On August 2, the 10th Congress of Moc Chau District Trade Union, term 2023-2028, took place. The Congress was attended by nearly 200 delegates representing 3,329 union members and workers in the entire district.
The Moc Chau District Labor Federation (DLF) has 72 grassroots unions. In the 2017-2023 term, the DLF has directed grassroots unions to perform well their role in caring for the lives, rights and legitimate interests of union members and workers; thoroughly implementing contents directly related to union members, workers and civil servants; coordinating the organization of patriotic emulation movements; organizing conferences of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers; stepping up inspection and supervision of the implementation of policies for workers.
Trade unions at all levels and workers, civil servants and employees in the whole district have donated over 960 million VND to support people in flood-affected areas; contributed to local charity and gratitude funds, and the "Day for the Poor" Fund with a total amount of nearly 790 million VND. Grassroots trade unions have established the "Education and Talent Promotion" Fund with an amount of over 560 million VND, the "For Poor Female Workers" Fund with an amount of 730 million VND, the "Union Shelter" Fund with a total amount of 540 million VND, etc.
With the theme "Continuing to innovate the content and methods of trade union activities to contribute to building Moc Chau town to develop rapidly, comprehensively and sustainably", for the 2023-2028 term, Moc Chau District Labor Federation has set out 14 targets and 2 breakthroughs: Innovating trade union activities, focusing on digital transformation, building digital trade unions and digital union members; improving negotiation skills, bargaining and signing collective labor agreements for grassroots trade union officials in the enterprise sector, and the quality of collective labor agreements.
The Congress elected 14 members of the Executive Committee of the District Labor Federation, Term X; elected 13 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates to attend the Congress of the Trade Union at a higher level. On this occasion, the Provincial Labor Federation presented the 2022 Competition Flag of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to the Moc Chau District Labor Federation. The District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 10 collectives and 20 individuals with outstanding achievements in trade union activities for the 2017-2023 term.
