Da Nang is a new destination in the MICHELIN Guide culinary handbook in Vietnam this year. Mr. Gwendal Poullennec - International Director of MICHELIN Guide said that Da Nang - a new city added in the second announcement of MICHELIN Guide in Vietnam is a factor that helps MICHELIN Guide's choices become richer and more diverse with unique local dishes and specialties, representing the cuisine of Central Vietnam and at the same time reflecting the influence of French, Chinese cuisine as well as other Southeast Asian cultures.
In this announcement, Da Nang contributed 36 locations to the MICHELIN Guide list - including 1 MICHELIN one-star restaurant, 1 MICHELIN blue-star restaurant and 16 Bib Gourmand award-winning dining establishments. The most prominent of these is the first MICHELIN one-star restaurant in Da Nang - La Maison 1888 (located in the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Bai Bac, Son Tra, Da Nang).
The restaurant is designed like an ancient French mansion in the Indochinese style, standing out in the fresh green space of the primeval forest. Here, the team of chefs and waiters have continuously raised the standard of high-class cuisine in Vietnam since its opening 11 years ago.
“Since its opening, La Maison 1888 has been constantly striving to bring the perfect culinary experience to diners. Receiving this prestigious award is an important milestone in our journey. Achieving MICHELIN stars once again helps us affirm the resort as the leading fine dining destination in Vietnam,” said Mr. Seif Hamdy - General Manager of InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort.
Also in Da Nang, Nen Danang restaurant is the first Vietnamese restaurant to receive the MICHELIN green star award. This title honors pioneering dining establishments that aim to build sustainable cuisine, providing an experience that combines culinary excellence with a serious commitment to environmental friendliness.
