The contest aims to promote the implementation of Decision No. 2074/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister issued on December 10, 2021, referring to the Plan to implement Directive No. 06-CT/TW of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in family building in the new situation and Decision No. 2238/QD-TTg issued on December 30, 2021 on approving the Vietnam Family Development Strategy to 2030.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, journalist Ho Minh Chien - Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Family Magazine, Head of the Organizing Committee (OC) of the contest shared: "The contest is a forum for fathers and children to express their feelings, emotions, and gratitude towards their parents. From there, promote the noble traditional humanistic values of family love, towards a better lifestyle, a more useful and meaningful life, arouse and inspire positive feelings; create strong bonds in the family".

The contest will also be a bridge to bring pages of writing, stories full of humanity and beauty about father and child love to touch the most magical and sacred emotions of each person.
With that in mind, since its first launch in 2023, the writing contest "Father and Daughter" has attracted more than 800 entries in just 2 months.
Many of these are pages that have touched the sacred emotions of the Vietnamese people. There is the warmth, protection, and tolerance of a father; the filial piety, and boundless love of a daughter.
There are sadness and joy, tears and smiles, happiness and suffering written with all the heart, a moment for father and daughter to be honest with each other, not afraid to share mistakes, ready to forgive...
“It can be said that the contest has helped people to rearrange their most beautiful memories, preserve their most sincere emotions, and multiply their most beautiful aspirations and dreams about the love between father and daughter,” journalist Ho Minh Chien emphasized.
From those successes, the 2nd Father and Daughter Writing Contest 2024 was officially launched and accepted entries from March 27, 2024 to June 10, 2024.

Attending the event, journalist Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association acknowledged and highly appreciated the Organizing Committee of the writing contest about fathers and daughters. "I highly appreciate this contest. In the context where we have a storm of information flooding in and especially a lot of negative information on social networks, in the press, causing a disconnection from the press... and making people no longer want to come to the press. The solution to the current disconnection from news is to have constructive, explanatory, and inspirational content... Those are ways to make people feel that life is better", journalist Le Quoc Minh emphasized.
Journalist Le Quoc Minh assessed this as a useful contest, showing faith in life, respect for family, creating connections between people, people and information. With more creative ways, journalist Le Quoc Minh believes that good stories about the contest will spread further.
Finally, journalist Le Quoc Minh hopes that many other press agencies will also have similar contests on other topics as meaningful as today's "Father and Daughter" writing contest.

Regarding the contest rules, the Organizing Committee said that contestants must be Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad with articles that are true stories written by authors who are characters or witnesses, memories, confidences, and stories from fathers to their daughters and vice versa, expressed in the form of notes, reports, interviews, essays, diaries, etc. The Organizing Committee encourages authors to use real images of the characters in their entries.
Entries must be 1,000 - 1,500 words long, written in Vietnamese on A4 paper or sent via email, and must not have been published/broadcast on any media, radio or social network, and must not have been entered into other contests.
Each author may submit a maximum of 3 entries and is responsible for the authenticity and accuracy of the content. Copying or plagiarizing other people's work in any form is prohibited.
Entries selected for publication in Vietnam Family Magazine will be paid royalties according to regulations and will be owned by the editorial board; the author has no right to claim copyright.
The second “Father and Daughter” writing contest has the following award structure: 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 5 consolation prizes and 5 secondary prizes.
In addition to the cash prize, the winning authors will also receive a certificate from the Organizing Committee, a book containing the entries, and gifts (if any) from the sponsor.
