After 50 years of Southern Liberation Day, An Giang's socio-economic development is increasingly growing.
Revisiting the glorious past
Reality has proven that over the past 95 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Party Committee and the people of An Giang, together with the whole country, have written glorious pages of history. Since its early days, overcoming many difficulties and hardships of war, An Giang has been steadfast in following the Party, contributing human and material resources to the cause of national liberation and unification. Place names such as Cot Day Thep, Tuc Dup Hill, Ba Chuc... have become symbols of the indomitable and steadfast spirit of the people of An Giang.
50 years after the complete liberation of the South and reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), An Giang has made remarkable progress in all fields. From a purely agricultural province, An Giang has risen to become one of the provinces with the fastest economic growth rate in the Mekong Delta region. Green rice fields, modern industrial parks, spacious urban areas... are proof of the miraculous changes of the homeland. Not only developing the economy, An Giang also focuses on preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. Unique cultural festivals, historical and cultural relics preserved and embellished... have contributed to enriching the spiritual life of the people. In the new period, An Giang identifies the goal of sustainable development, harmonizing economy, culture and environment. The province focuses on investing in education, healthcare, science and technology, improving the quality of life of the people.
