Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong has just signed Official Dispatch No. 923/QD_BVHTTDL promulgating the Decision on establishing a Working Group to manage film dissemination activities on cyberspace.
The Working Group consists of 10 members. Director of the Department of Cinema Vi Kien Thanh is the Head of the Group. Mr. Do Quoc Viet, Deputy Director of the Department of Cinema is the permanent Deputy Head; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Cinema is the Deputy Head.
Accordingly, the Working Group is responsible for performing the tasks prescribed in the Cinema Law dated June 15, 2022, Decree No. 131/2022/ND-CP dated December 31, 2022 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Cinema Law.
Specifically, the Working Group will receive dossiers and respond in writing to requests for recognition of eligibility to classify popular films on the Internet; publicly post the names of enterprises, public service units, and organizations eligible to classify popular films on the Internet. Issue and revoke Film Classification Licenses for films of enterprises, public service units, and organizations that are not eligible to classify popular films on the Internet. Build and manage a Data System on Film Classification on the Internet.
In addition, the Working Group is also responsible for checking the content of films, classifying films, displaying the results of classifying films popularized on cyberspace; Receiving notifications of the list of films to be disseminated and the results of classifying films on cyberspace; Receiving contacts and contact information of businesses, public service units, and organizations that disseminate films on cyberspace.
Director of the Cinema Department Vi Kien Thanh said that the working group headed by him is responsible for requiring entities that disseminate films on the internet to stop and remove infringing films. At the same time, requesting organizations and businesses with telecommunications networks to deploy necessary technical measures to prevent access to infringing films....
In addition, the Working Group is also responsible for performing other tasks assigned by the Ministry's leaders. In the process of organizing the implementation of tasks, the Working Group is responsible for reporting and asking for direct instructions from the Ministry's leaders on issues arising beyond its authority.
