Performance of the musical "Red Desire"

( Bqp.vn ) - On the evening of December 7, at the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace (Hanoi), the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Military University of Culture and Arts, in collaboration with the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theater, organized the second performance of the musical "Red Aspiration".

Attending the program were comrades: General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.

Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Ministers of National Defense: General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Central Military Commission; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam. Also attending the program were Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; leaders of agencies and units inside and outside the Army.

“Red Aspiration” not only tells the story of the soldier’s ideals but also the story of the inner struggle between duty and personal life. Through the story of the family of Major General, Professor, Doctor Hoang An, former Deputy Director of the Military Medical Academy, the musical leads the audience to the life of a soldier’s family in a turbulent modern society. From there, it reflects the urgent issues facing intellectuals working in the Army, such as life ideals, concepts of dedication, material enjoyment, emotional needs, marital bonding, and soldiers’ sense of social responsibility.

The musical was staged by a creative team in the spirit of contemporary Broadway musicals, using diverse musical styles (ballad, pop, rock), with the participation of 60 artists, actors, and musicians from the Military University of Culture and Arts and the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet. The dramatic and emotional climaxes gradually untie the knot of ideological disagreements between generations and individuals in a family as well as in society; at the same time, inspire and encourage people to respect and preserve traditional values, towards noble ideals, great ambitions and aspirations to contribute, illuminating the spirit of dedication for the peace of the Fatherland, for the prosperity and happiness of the people of Uncle Ho's soldiers in peacetime.

At the end of the program, delegates went on stage to present flowers and commend the creative spirit and dedication, bringing a performance with high ideological and artistic value, orienting the truth - goodness - beauty of the artists to the audience.
