Niccolo, son of former football legend Andrea Pirlo, is believed to have been involved in illegal betting on platforms run by two Italian nationals. According to initial investigations, the network is suspected to have involved a number of famous players such as Leandro Paredes, Angel Di Maria and Junior Firpo.
Italian press reported that Niccolo appeared in a conversation between midfielder Niccolo Fagioli (Fiorentina) and referee Pietro Marinoni, two people who are being investigated for seeking new "customers" for an illegal betting network.
Fagioli was banned for seven months in 2023 for violating betting regulations of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). He revealed that Niccolo had shared about participating in illegal betting platforms.

“He said he couldn't sleep at night because he was always betting on the NBA, but he was always short of points,” Fagioli said.
Referee Marinoni also spoke up: "He is one of us."
Pirlo is said to have discovered his son's behavior and decided to block all of Niccolo's accounts until he turns 18. According to Fagioli, Niccolo is in debt of up to 30,000 euros at the age of 17.
During the investigation, Milan police seized 1.5 million euros from several suspects, including bookmakers and partners of a related jewelry store.
In addition to Fagioli, Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali was also named. If they are involved in betting on football matches, the group of players will receive serious punishment. In the case of only using an illegal betting platform (not licensed in Italy), the highest administrative fine is 250 euros.
Niccolo was born in 2003, the son of Pirlo and his ex-wife Deborah Roversi. Niccolo was invited to Juventus for a trial at the age of 15 but has not had any significant achievements in his football career.
Pirlo's missed masterpiece in the 7-a-side football tournament The Italian football legend almost scored a masterpiece with a free kick that hit the PIO goal in Jijantes' 3-4 loss in round 5 of the 7-a-side football tournament King's League on June 6.
