As of this morning (March 3), 62 provinces and cities across the country have announced their plans for admission to grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year. Tra Vinh is the only locality that has not announced the third exam subject.
According to information from the Department of Education and Training of Tra Vinh province, this unit has submitted an enrollment plan and is expected to be approved and announced by the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province today.
Among the 62 localities that have finalized the enrollment plan, 3 provinces organize the enrollment exam (only for specialized schools), including Vinh Long, Gia Lai, and Ca Mau.
The remaining provinces all organize entrance exams or entrance exams combined with selection. Except for Ha Giang, all provinces and cities choose foreign languages as the exam subject, mainly English, some localities have some other languages such as German, French, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian.
Ha Giang is the only province that has chosen the History-Geography combination test as the third test in this year's 10th grade entrance exam. Binh Thuan province has also chosen this combination test but it is only applied to students taking the entrance exam to the provincial Ethnic Boarding High School, the remaining schools have English tests.
Quang Tri enrolls students using a combination of entrance exams and selection. The selection score includes the total exam score multiplied by a coefficient of 2 plus the following points: the average score of 4 years of junior high school, the average score of 4 years of junior high school training (converted to good: 8 points; fair: 6.5 points; pass: 5 points), priority and encouragement points. Quang Tri is a rare locality that includes training points in the 10th grade selection score.
Tay Ninh province also has a combined entrance exam and selection process, in which the exam score accounts for 70% and the average score of 4 years of junior high school accounts for 30%.
