Co To takes strong action against noise violations

In order to ensure security and order, and ensure the tourism environment, the People's Committee of Co To district has just issued a document on strictly handling the use of audio equipment that causes noise exceeding the legal regulations.

In the recent reality, there have been cases of some tourism service businesses organizing outdoor karaoke for guests beyond the prescribed time, using high-power audio equipment causing noise exceeding the legal limit. The situation of organizing karaoke beyond the prescribed time (from 10:00 p.m. the previous day to 6:00 a.m. the next day) is happening more and more, affecting the tourism environment and people's lives.

The People's Committee of Co To district has just issued document No. 811/VHTTDL requesting the district's functional agencies, commune and town authorities to take action to handle violations. At the same time, it requires owners of tourism service establishments to comply, not to organize karaoke singing beyond the prescribed time and not to use audio equipment that causes noise exceeding the legal regulations, affecting the surrounding environment and public order.

It is known that in order for this to be effectively implemented, Co To district has equipped specialized sound intensity measuring devices for functional agencies such as: District Police, Department of Natural Resources and Environment... According to Co To district authorities, if there is a violation or recidivism regarding noise, the penalty for the violator may be from 1-50 million VND.
