Ms. Hoang Thi Van, the school principal, said the incident happened in class 2C, Tham Ve village school (nearly 10km from the main school).

According to Ms. Van, class 2C has 24 students with teacher NLH as the homeroom teacher. At the end of the class, Ms. H. locked the door, left and forgot student BTP in the classroom. The time the student was locked in the classroom was about 1 hour (from 10:35 to 11:45).

When P.'s parents came to pick him up, they discovered that P. was still in the classroom, so they called Ms. H to inform her of the incident. The teacher then asked the parents to find someone to help cut the classroom lock, open the door, and take P. home.

Ms. Van said that when the information appeared on social networks, Ms. NLH and the school's board of directors along with local authorities went to P.'s family to report the incident and apologize to the family.
