Say what people believe, do what people see
Although it was the weekend, Ms. Ho Thi Nhanh (43 years old, Bru - Van Kieu ethnic group) arranged her housework and proactively went to Khe Giua, Khe Sung, Cua Merc, Km 14 villages... to meet prestigious people and village elders to talk about building great national unity, implementing the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", and improving cultural life.
Working closely with the Front, Ms. Nhanh is considered a "bridge" that both carries out propaganda, mobilizes and gathers people from all walks of life, and brings the thoughts and aspirations of the villagers to competent authorities. At the same time, she also strives to convey and respond to the villagers' petitions in accordance with the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws. Ms. Nhanh shared that in order to "speak to the people with confidence", she always goes deep and close to reality to grasp the villagers' thoughts. For the Bru - Van Kieu ethnic people living in Ngan Thuy commune, propaganda and mobilization must be persistent and regular. Her first success was mobilizing women in Coi Da village to quit smoking.
According to Ms. Nhanh, it was a long and arduous process of propaganda and mobilization, and she had to do it “first and foremost”. She confided that it was difficult for women to give up the habit that had been “ingrained in their blood” for so long, but for the sake of their health and to set an example for women, she was able to quit smoking and then persuaded women to follow suit.
Growing up from grassroots activities as the Head of the Women's Association of Coi Da village, then Vice President of the Women's Union of the commune, and then being elected as the President of the Women's Union of Ngan Thuy commune, Ms. Ho Thi Nhanh has always improved her professional knowledge and fostered her propaganda skills. Since 2021, as the President of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ngan Thuy commune, she has always fulfilled her role as a skillful campaigner and mass mobiliser. As the President of the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, she and her member organizations have implemented the "persistent, cautious, and certain" campaigning method, combining words with actions to achieve high results in propaganda work.
Active for people to rely on
On a weekend afternoon, on the stilt house roof of the Bru - Van Kieu people, Ms. Ho Thi Nhanh confided that, with the responsibility of a Front cadre, she had visited all 6 villages of Ngan Thuy commune. From the reality of the difficulties of the people, she always wondered how to help them escape poverty, raise awareness from the smallest activities to join hands to contribute to building a new life in the villages on the border.
Since working for the Front (2021) up to now, Ms. Nhanh has made many contributions in connecting the construction of 75 Great Solidarity houses with a total value of nearly 2 billion VND from support sources to help disadvantaged households settle down. Not only that, on the day of handing over the new houses, she herself mobilized organizations, unions, and benefactors to donate essential items.
Realizing that people in Coi Da, Km14 and Khe Sung villages have been lacking water for a long time despite being supported with wells, recently, Ms. Nhanh, together with the Commune Front and member organizations, mobilized units and benefactors to support people with 8 wells in Coi Da village (2 wells), Km14 village (3 wells) and Khe Sung village (3 wells).
To gain the trust and support of the villagers, she must “take the lead” and set an example in everything. Regarding family economic development, she implemented a model of forest planting combined with pig and chicken farming. She shared that at first, the couple only worked on a small scale of 1-2 hectares, then the acacia planting area was gradually expanded. Seeing that her family’s economy was abundant, the villagers in the villages also actively followed suit…
The Ngan Thuy Commune Front has also coordinated with the tourism unit to mobilize and guide many households in Coi Da village to renovate and rearrange their family's eating and living places to welcome tourists to experience eating, living and exploring the cultural beauty of the Bru - Van Kieu people. An even more interesting thing is that not only does Ms. Nhanh work for the Front, her husband, Mr. Ho Van Hung - Party Cell Secretary and Head of the Coi Da Village Front Work Committee, has also accompanied, supported, shared and encouraged her in all her work.
Speaking about the female Chairwoman of the Front of Ngan Thuy commune, Ms. Ninh Thi Hoa - Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Le Thuy district commented that as an ethnic minority, Ms. Ho Thi Nhanh always tries to grasp and understand the thoughts and aspirations of the people, calling for resources to support the construction of Great Unity houses, implementing production, livestock and social security models in the commune. It can be affirmed that, in carrying out the work of mobilizing ethnic minorities, Ms. Nhanh has well implemented the motto "devoted to the people's love, responsible to the people's love, disciplined to the people's respect, proactive to the people's benefit".
In the competitive atmosphere welcoming the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029, Ms. Ho Thi Nhanh, a Bru - Van Kieu ethnic in the border commune of Ngan Thuy (Le Thuy district, Quang Binh) expressed her absolute confidence in the leadership role of the Party, the management of the Government, and the increasingly important role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in gathering the great national unity bloc and promoting the people's mastery. "As an ethnic cadre, I am very happy to see many outstanding and prestigious individuals from ethnic minorities participating in the Front Committees at all levels - they are the core elements contributing to consolidating and expanding the great national unity bloc and are pioneers in propaganda work, implementing patriotic emulation campaigns and movements in ethnic minority areas, contributing to ensuring border security" - Ms. Ho Thi Nhanh shared.
