Identifying the development of transport infrastructure as an important premise and driving force for socio-economic development, in the period of 2020 - 2025, Huu Khuong commune has mobilized and integrated investment resources to build new, repair, upgrade and complete dozens of kilometers of rural roads in the form of the district providing financial support, the commune mobilizing local human resources to dig and fill roads connecting the village with the commune center, and roads to concentrated production areas.
These days, at the construction sites of Khe Hoc Bridge, Khe Pung Bridge, and Con Phen Bridge, workers are working day and night to ensure completion on schedule. Construction crews on the service road running parallel to the main road are also working hard to open the route by the end of 2024.
Along with that, the road connecting from the center of Huu Khuong commune to National Highway 16 has been opened, then the road connecting from the center of the commune to Ban Xan, more than 20km long, is under construction, expected to be completed by the end of 2025. This is an important project to contribute to promoting local socio-economic development.
Mr. Lo Van Giap, Chairman of the People's Committee of Huu Khuong Commune, said: "The traffic works invested in the past time have created favorable conditions for the production and circulation of goods of the people, helping agricultural production develop, bringing high economic efficiency, contributing to reducing the poverty rate of the whole commune.
As one of the pioneers in economic development, Mr. Ngan Van Hong in Ban Xan grows more than 4 hectares of flower beds, 2 hectares of grass for livestock and manages and protects dozens of hectares of natural forest. In addition, Mr. Hong also reclaims land for farming, digs ponds to raise fish, raises chickens, ducks... his life is increasingly prosperous.
Along with the concern for production development, the local government also focuses on migration and resettlement. As shared by Mr. Lo Van Nui, in Huoi Pung village: At the end of this year, my family will be moved to the resettlement area in Khe Hoc. There, the land is flat, close to the commune center, transportation is convenient, and people also have conditions to grow rice, so life will certainly be better than where we used to live.
We visited Tung Hoc village, where there are more than 80 households of the Kho Mu ethnic group. Mr. Moong Van Tinh welcomed me right at the beginning of the village, pointed to the hillsides, and boasted: Before, those hills were covered with reeds, but now cassava is green and lush. Last year, more than half of the village earned over 100 million VND from cassava, the people were very excited, so this year they planted more. The people's houses have also changed a lot, there are only a few temporary houses left, and they will be supported to rebuild them at the end of this year. The village roads and alleys are now much cleaner and more beautiful than before. The flat land along the streams is used by the people to grow rice, vegetables, and grass for livestock. On average, each household has 5-6 buffaloes and cows... Although not yet rich, the people of Tung Hoc are no longer hungry.
Saying goodbye to Tung Hoc village, we continued to Cha Lang village. Mr. Va Ba Va, Secretary of the Cha Lang village Party cell, shared: “Now that there is a nice road, people can travel conveniently, cars can transport goods to the village, people can buy the agricultural products they produce right away, and they also have good prices, so everyone is happy and works hard to dispel hunger and poverty.”
Cha Lang village has 51 households, up to now, each household has an average of 7-8 cows, more than 1 hectare of cassava, 1 hectare of corn and about 5 sao of rice fields. In 2023, the lowest income household will reach over 50 million VND, some households will have an income of over 200 million VND. In the near future, Cha Lang village will implement a project to plant 10,000 peach trees, planted in the village and on the fields.
Ms. Pit Thi Thoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Huu Khuong commune, affirmed: Although there are still many difficulties, it can be affirmed that up to now, the people of Huu Khuong are no longer hungry, their lives are much different from before. That is the result of the State's attention, investment and support for national target programs; at the same time, it is a process of propaganda and mobilization to change the people's thinking and awareness. Huu Khuong has currently completed more than 60% of the Party Congress targets for the 2020 - 2025 term and is striving to complete the remaining targets.
