Cho Lach is about to launch the longest flower street in Vietnam

During the Cho Lach Flower and Ornamental Festival taking place from January 8 to January 12, 2025, this locality will set a record for the longest community-created flower and ornamental road in Vietnam with a length of 15 km.

On December 15, the People's Committee of Cho Lach District (Ben Tre) organized a press conference about the Cho Lach Flower and Ornamental Festival in Ho Chi Minh City. Accordingly, the festival is organized with many programs, activities of display, exhibition, contest, cultural and artistic activities, cuisine, entertainment... rich in the flavor of the West. Of which, the most interesting activity is the activity of setting a record for the longest community-created flower and ornamental road in Vietnam.

This route includes district roads 34, 35, 37, 15 km long with typical trees such as: hong loc tree, cypress, bougainvillea, chrysanthemum... At this place, visitors can freely check-in for beautiful Tet photos without any charge.

Cho Lach District is located on Minh Islet, more than 40 km from Ben Tre City center. With a dense system of canals and a temperate climate, Cho Lach District is one of the largest producers of seedlings and ornamental flowers in the Mekong Delta.

Cho Lach has 31 traditional ornamental flower villages producing seedlings and ornamental flowers with thousands of households participating in production.

Mr. Pham Anh Linh, Chairman of Cho Lach District People's Committee, said that this is the first Flower - Ornamental Festival held in the district, not only to enhance the value of Cho Lach flower and ornamental brand but also to introduce and promote the beauty of culture, history, people and landscape of Cho Lach to friends near and far. Cho Lach is known not only as the largest producer of plant varieties in the country but also as the kingdom of flowers and ornamental plants.

The colorful "flower fields" during Tet are expected to attract a large number of tourists to check-in in the days near Tet.

To serve the festival, the locality has trained people to do tourism, and competed in making beautiful gates and green fences for people in 4 communes. "Rural tourism is first and foremost agriculture. Cho Lach is famous for ornamental flowers, so that is the direction we want our farmers to do both agriculture and tourism," shared the leader of Cho Lach District People's Committee.

In 2024, Ben Tre will attract 25.5 million tourists, of which Cho Lach will welcome about 616,000 (an increase of 53% over the same period).

Cho Lach Cultural Tourism Village is one of the key projects of Ben Tre province in the period of 2020-2025. This is not only the pride of Cho Lach people, but in the future it will also be an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.

Besides setting the record for the longest community-created flower street in Vietnam, during the festival, the locality also has activities such as: Cho Lach beautiful photo contest, bonsai - yellow apricot contest, artistic cockfighting, and Cho Lach garden talent reunion program.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Vice Chairman of Cho Lach District People's Committee, added that the festival is expected to attract 20,000 visitors during the festival days amidst the brilliant colors of flowers in Cho Lach Cultural Tourism Village. It is expected that there will be more than 100 commercial booths in the following fields: ornamental flowers, seedlings; fighting cocks; gardens serving garden tourism services, traditional craft villages and garden cuisine.
