A pair of Ukrainian M-2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles destroyed a Russian T-90 tank this month in Stepove, outside Avdiivka.
The two Ukrainian armored vehicles were almost defeated in the confrontation with the tank, which was equipped with more powerful weapons and armor.
One of the 30-ton Bradleys fired a few rounds with its 25mm autocannon before speeding away, leaving a second Bradley to attack at a range of a few dozen meters.

The crew of three of the second M-2 opened fire with 25mm armor-piercing rounds. And that was when disaster almost struck the Ukrainian armor.
Serhiy, the gunner on the M-2, admitted that his crew had a problem at the time, apparently running out of armor-piercing ammunition. This forced them to switch to less powerful ammunition.
However, the attacks that Serhiy fired still could not penetrate the T-90's additional reactive armor, let alone penetrate the Russian tank's hundreds of millimeters thick composite base armor.
Unable to penetrate the armor of the 51-ton T-90, Serhiy aimed his fire at the T-90's optics, which allowed the Russian tank crew to see the battlefield.
"I decided to blindfold the tank so it couldn't leave," Serhiy said.
Serhiy then continued to fire at the T-90. The Russian tank's turret spun, the T-90 lost control and crashed into a tree.
Three crew members ran out. Then a Ukrainian first-person drone attacked and destroyed the T-90.
Forbes commented that the US-made M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle could be Ukraine's most effective armored vehicle in the war with Russia.
Specifically, this armor can protect Ukrainian infantry from mines, rockets and artillery as well as attack Russian soldiers and vehicles with dangerous 25mm automatic cannons.
According to Forbes , the M-2s have caused more damage to Russia than Moscow has caused to this armored vehicle.
The Bradley is an infantry fighting vehicle developed by the United States in the 1970s to counter Soviet infantry fighting vehicles.
In addition to its ability to transport soldiers and protect infantry on the battlefield, this armored vehicle is also considered a "tank killer" when equipped with 2 launchers with 7 TOW anti-tank missiles. The Bradley's armor can withstand heavy machine gun fire from opponents.
Expert Mark Cancian at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) called the Bradley a "light tank" that enhances the "ground combat capability" of Ukrainian forces compared to the M113 armored personnel carrier.
One advantage of the M2 is that it has proven highly survivable in a war that has destroyed thousands of less durable infantry fighting vehicles.
Ukraine has posted photos of Bradley vehicles on Telegram, describing them as having “survived” a direct hit by Russian fire.
