Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign said it has raised a total of $540 million since she launched her presidential campaign after President Joe Biden dropped out a month ago.
Kamala Harris's US presidential campaign has raised more than half a billion dollars in just over a month, "a record for any campaign in history". Meanwhile, Mr. Trump reported raising $327 million in cash in early August. According to the statement, Ms. Harris’s campaign donations reflect money raised from the campaign, the Democratic National Committee and joint fundraising committees. Ms. O’Malley Dillon, the director of Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign, said a third of those donations were from first-time contributors. Harris’s campaign appears to have been energized by both large and small donors — a change from the tumultuous period following President Biden’s dismal debate performance in June, when major donors reportedly stopped fundraising. Harris and Trump are neck and neck in the polls with less than three weeks to go until their Sept. 10 debate in Philadelphia.
