Run more Tet trains from Saigon station to Central provinces

The railway will run more passenger trains from Saigon station to the central provinces during Tet 2025, with many ticket discount policies.

According to information from Nha Trang Railway Transport Branch, the railway has set up more passenger trains from Ho Chi Minh City to the Central provinces and vice versa, to meet the spring travel needs of people on the days before Tet and during the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025. Accordingly, on January 27, 2025 (ie December 28 of the Lunar calendar), train SD2 will run from Saigon station at 9:00 p.m., arriving at Dieu Tri station at 12:16 p.m.; Train STK2 will run from Saigon station at 2:35 p.m., arriving at Tam Ky station at 8:32 a.m.; Train D2 will run from Saigon station at 8:25 a.m., arriving at Da Nang station at 4:23 a.m.

On January 29, 2025 (January 1), train SNT4 departs from Saigon station at 9:00 p.m. and arrives at Nha Trang station at 7:00 a.m.; train SNT6 departs from Saigon station at 10:10 p.m. and arrives at Nha Trang station at 8:10 a.m.; train SNT4 departs from Saigon station at 9:00 p.m. and arrives at Nha Trang station at 7:00 a.m.; train SNT6 departs from Saigon station at 10:10 p.m. and arrives at Nha Trang station at 8:10 a.m.; train STK4 departs from Saigon station at 11:00 a.m. and arrives at Tam Ky station at 4:56 a.m.; train D4 departs from Saigon station at 8:25 a.m. and arrives at Da Nang station at 4:23 a.m. On January 31, 2025 (January 3), train SD6 departs from Saigon station at 8:25 a.m. and arrives at Dieu Tri station at 10:11 p.m.; train SNT3 departs from Nha Trang station at 10:04 p.m. and arrives at Saigon station at 8:46 a.m. On February 1, 2025 (January 4), train SD3 departs from Dieu Tri station at 11:42 a.m. and arrives at Saigon station at 3:00 a.m.; train STK1 departs from Tam Ky station at 10:37 a.m. and arrives at Saigon station at 8:46 a.m.; train D1 departs from Da Nang station at 11:23 a.m. and arrives at Saigon station at 10:35 a.m. Previously, Vietnam Railways Corporation said that from 8:00 a.m. on October 6, 2025, all passenger trains running from January 15, 2025 (ie December 16, the year of Giap Thin) to February 16, 2025 (ie January 19, the year of At Ty) will be on sale. Each passenger can book and buy no more than 10 tickets for the outbound trip and 10 tickets for the return trip. Notably, during the Tet train period, the railway still applies many ticket discount policies. Accordingly, the route from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi before Tet, the route from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City after Tet, will reduce 3% of ticket prices on trains departing from Saigon station on January 27, 2025 (ie December 28, lunar calendar) and traveling from 1,000km or more. Discount from 2% to 8% on ticket prices for groups of 11 or more people traveling by train between January 15 and January 20, 2025 (for even-numbered trains from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi) and from February 10 to February 16, 2025 (for odd-numbered trains from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City). Tour guides also receive a 50% discount on ticket prices. A 5% discount on return tickets for passengers purchasing round-trip tickets. A 20% discount on ticket prices for students of universities, academies, colleges, vocational and technical high schools between January 15 and January 21, 2025 (for even-numbered trains) and from February 10 to February 16, 2025 (for odd-numbered trains). Other periods receive a 10% discount. The railway still applies discounts for social policy beneficiaries such as Vietnamese heroic mothers, war invalids, people infected with toxic chemicals, people with severe disabilities, the elderly, children, union members, and passengers with customer cards.
