On Tet holiday, peach blossom is a characteristic, a highlight that seems indispensable for every family in the North in decorating their house to welcome the new year.
Understanding the need to play with peach blossoms during Tet, for many years, Mr. Thao A Sang (born in 1993, residing in Moc Chau district, Son La province) has painstakingly created a Moc Chau double-petal peach garden with thousands of trees to bring to big cities for rent every Tet holiday.
Thanks to renting out peach blossoms for Tet, in recent years, this Mong man has earned billions of dong. |
This is the fourth year that Mr. Sang and his team of 15 people have brought peach blossoms to the streets. The double-petaled peach blossoms of Moc Chau were brought by a Mong ethnic man to Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Hung Yen, Quang Ninh and Hanoi City to rent out for Tet.
Mr. Sang said that this year, he plans to bring about 1,000 peach trees to the above provinces and cities as he has become a "reputation" in the peach trading world and is known by many people.
Mr. Sang was busy answering the phone when customers booked to rent a peach tree. |
Since yesterday (January 8), about 200 peach trees have "arrived" near My Dinh Stadium, Nam Tu Liem District for rent. Before arriving in Hanoi, many beautiful peach trees were ordered a few days in advance, so his team meticulously decorated them and used a trick to prevent the peach trees from blooming when the weather was warm.
Mr. Sang revealed that last year, during Tet, he brought about 500 peach trees to provinces and cities and earned about 500 million VND. This year, thanks to having established a network and rental channels, he decided to bring thousands of peach trees to the streets.
Hundreds of Mr. Sang's peach trees were brought from Son La to Hanoi for people to rent during Tet. |
While trimming peach branches, Mr. Vang A Canh - a friend and close associate of Mr. Sang said that each peach tree for rent costs at least 4 - 5 million VND; beautiful trees are rented for 30 - 50 million VND/tree.
After Tet, thanks to the Zalo connection, the gardeners will directly come to collect the trees and then bring them back to Moc Chau to continue taking care of them until next year when they can rent them out again.

According to gardeners, in warm weather like this, flower suppression is one of the top priorities to avoid the flowers starting to fall off by Tet. |
The owner of thousands of peach trees for rent had to set up a temporary tent in an empty lot to eat and sleep with the peach blossoms and regularly update his phone and respond to tenants. |
Also in Hanoi, on January 9, reporters recorded many streets bustling with the sale of ornamental plants and handicrafts for Tet, with vibrant colors...
Besides peach blossoms, grapefruit, kumquat, orchids, etc. have also taken to the streets to show off their brilliant colors to welcome the new spring. |
