With an investment of more than 2,000 billion VND, Nguyen Hoang Bridge across the Huong River is gradually being completed. Last August, the bridge's steel arch was completed and is expected to be completed before March 26, 2025.

After more than a year and a half of construction, the Nguyen Hoang overpass over the Huong River in Hue City has taken shape. Last August, the contractor completed the construction of the 380-meter-long steel arch. Construction began in December 2022. The Nguyen Hoang overpass and the expanded Nguyen Hoang Street have a total investment of more than VND2,280 billion, of which the bridge construction cost is more than VND1,500 billion.

According to the design, the steel arch bridge has 5 spans, is 43 m wide, has 6 lanes, a 3 m wide pedestrian lane, and 210 m long approach roads at both ends. The bridge structure is made of reinforced concrete, with a minimum navigation capacity of 30 m wide and 6 m high.

According to Dan Viet reporter's records at the construction site, the steel frame bridge girder system has been installed by the contractor and is almost complete, waiting for the day to pour concrete and lay asphalt.

The bridge starts at Nguyen Hoang Street, Kim Long Ward and ends at Bui Thi Xuan Street, Phuong Duc Ward. Currently, the project has reached more than 80% progress with more than 200 workers and engineers participating in the construction of the bridge.

The steel frame is located more than 20 m high with a prominent yellow paint color.

The contractor is focusing on drilling and constructing the bridge piers at the walkways for cyclists and pedestrians. According to the design, the walkway branches down to the park on both sides of the river with 4 curved bridges. The two intersections at the beginning of the bridge are designed as roundabouts.

To construct the bridge, the contractor has mobilized many barges and cranes. The main bridge pier system is now nearly completed. The walkways on the bridge for workers are covered with additional nets to ensure labor safety.

On the south bank of the Huong River, Nguyen Hoang Bridge in Phuong Duc Ward and on the north bank of the Huong River, Nguyen Hoang Bridge in Kim Long and Huong Long Wards, there are also many households that have not yet handed over their land.

The completion of the bridge contributes to completing the traffic network, preventing congestion, reducing traffic volume on National Highway 1 and many routes through the center of Hue City. In addition, the bridge helps form and develop satellite cities, new urban areas in the west of Hue City, develop socio-economy, tourism services, and improve people's lives.

Currently, Thua Thien Hue province has 7 bridges across the Huong River including Truong Tien, Phu Xuan, Da Vien, Bach Ho, Tuan, Cho Dinh and Thao Long. Of these, Bach Ho is a train bridge and Thao Long has a bridge above and a dam below to prevent saltwater intrusion.
