According to Tech4Gamers , a large number of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 and 5090D graphics card users have reported that their cards have been 'bricked' after updating the latest driver. These reports have appeared on multiple Chinese online platforms such as Chiphell, Baidu, and Bilibili, causing great concern among gamers and high-end graphics card users.
RTX 5090 crashes after driver update
This issue affects a variety of graphics card brands, but the most common are Colorful and Manli models. However, some Gigabyte RTX 5090D users are also experiencing the same issue.
According to affected users, the problem started after they installed the latest NVIDIA drivers. Some users reported that the screen went black immediately after booting the computer after installing the drivers, while others reported that the operating system was unable to recognize the graphics card.
Some have suggested that the cause may be related to the graphics card not being compatible with the PCIe 5.0 standard and that switching to PCIe 4.0 could solve the problem. However, this is just a hypothesis and there is no official solution from NVIDIA yet.
This issue is not limited to the 5090D model but appears on the 5090 model as well, suggesting that this could be a serious driver bug.
Many users are concerned that this issue could affect the reputation of NVIDIA and its partners. Currently, the graphics company has not made any official statement on this issue.
