TPO - After a period of survey, the Vietnam Record Organization has officially set a record for the pair of dragons in Binh Duong province.
On March 5, speaking with Tien Phong reporter, the representative of Tuong Binh Hiep ward leader (Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong) said that the Vietnam Record Organization has just set a record for the pair of dragons assembled from the most hand-fired ceramic jars in Vietnam. The record will be set on March 4, 2024.
The dragon mascot was designed to welcome the Year of the Dragon 2024, located on Ho Van Cong Street (Tuong Binh Hiep Ward, Thu Dau Mot City). This is a traditional craft village with an age of more than 300 years.
The unique and considered "one of a kind" feature of the dragon pair in Binh Duong is the material used to create the inscription from jars, a famous traditional ceramic type.
Mr. Thuan, the main artisan responsible for making this pair of dragons, said that each dragon has 38 large jars and about 20,000 jars.
In addition, many of the details to create a complete dragon are also made of ceramic, a type of fired clay.
Mr. Tam, the owner of a kiln facility in Tuong Binh Hiep ward, is the one who sponsored all the jars and pots to make this impressive pair of dragons. Mr. Tam's traditional kiln facility is over 160 years old.
A representative of Tuong Binh Hiep ward government said that the pair of dragons not only welcomes the 2024 Giap Thin New Year, but also becomes a symbol of Tuong Binh Hiep craft village.
