A group of hackers are using a scam to lure users into downloading fake Google Bard to hijack their Facebook accounts.

Accordingly, Google has just posted on its blog that a group of scammers has taken advantage of users' interest in the AI chatbot Bard tool, thereby stealing social network account passwords.

Google cho biết nhóm lừa đảo là các cá nhân từ Việt Nam và Ấn Độ.
Google said the scammers were individuals from Vietnam and India.

Google General Counsel Halimah DeLaine Prado said the company has filed a lawsuit in California against a group of hackers that includes individuals from Vietnam and India.

According to Google, the scammers created Facebook fan pages and ran ads encouraging users to download Bard. The hackers used Google logos, trademarks, and product names to carry out the scam.

"These fraudulent ads will direct users to fake third-party websites that look and feel like Google. The websites will then ask users to download software to use Bard," Google said.

However, in fact, this is just a malware that can steal Facebook account information. The hacker group will then use this data to hijack the victims' social network accounts and spread more malware-related advertisements.

Google also said it is working with domain name registrars to request the removal of the scam sites. To date, the company has sent about 300 requests to take down sites associated with the hacker group.

Bard is an AI tool released by Google for free on the website platform. Similar to ChatGPT, users can use this AI chatbot without downloading any related software.
