Thu Duc City People's Committee has just sent a report to the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the progress of compensation and resettlement support for the Ring Road 2 construction project in Thu Duc City.
According to the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, the Ring Road 2 project, section 1 from Phu Huu bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap street (including Binh Thai intersection) is more than 3.5km long, with an expected recovered area of about 47.66ha and affects about 893 cases.

For the Ring Road 2 project, section 2 from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Pham Van Dong Street is nearly 2.5km long, with 258 affected cases.
Thu Duc City People's Committee has directed units to urgently carry out necessary procedures to implement compensation and resettlement support work, striving to complete the disbursement of allocated investment capital in 2024.
Up to now, the Ring Road 2 project has completed a number of contents such as the preparation and approval of the current status map, the location of the project's land acquisition, the positioning of markers and the handover of boundaries in the field; the issuance of land acquisition notices. In addition, the inventory of the current status of houses and land in affected cases.
Currently, units are focusing on implementing the work of legal confirmation of real estate, collecting information to prepare for land valuation...

Regarding resettlement, it is estimated that the resettlement needs to be arranged are 555 land plots, 58 apartments (section 1); 102 land plots, 10 apartments (section 2).
For apartments, the total resettlement demand is 58 apartments; the number of existing apartments is 771, basically meeting the demand.

For land, the total resettlement demand is 657 plots in both phases, while the available quantity is 550 plots (in resettlement areas: Long Buu (phase 2), 50 ha Cat Lai, Gia Hoa, Dai Nhan Company housing area and Dong Tang Long). This is a shortage compared to the demand.
Therefore, Thu Duc City proposes that the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City soon hand over two land plots at 118 Dang Van Bi, Binh Tho Ward and 15/6C Dang Van Bi, Truong Tho Ward. These are two land plots recovered from Sanofi-Synthelabo Vietnam Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company to invest in building resettlement areas to serve the resettlement of the Ring Road 2 project section and key projects and works in Thu Duc City as proposed by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City. Both land plots are expected to accommodate 87-120 land plots, combining the above resettlement areas to meet the demand.
Beltway 2 was planned in 2007, 64km long, with a scale of 6-10 lanes. The route starts from Nguyen Van Linh (Binh Chanh district) through Phu My bridge (district 7), continues to Binh Thai intersection, connects to Go Dua intersection (Thu Duc city), the end point is National Highway 1, then loops back to Nguyen Van Linh to form a road surrounding Ho Chi Minh City.
To date, 50km has been completed, the remaining 14km is divided into 4 sections, and construction of the two sections on the Thu Duc side is expected to start in the first quarter of 2025.
