Number of air passengers hits new peak
A representative of Noi Bai International Airport said that with the steady growth rate of both international and domestic flights, it is expected that this summer, the air transport volume through Noi Bai International Airport will remain high for a long time from early June to mid-August. In the first 12 days of June, Noi Bai International Airport served more than 1 million passengers with more than 7,000 flights.
Especially on June 11, the Sunday right after the end of the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi, passenger volume increased sharply as people's travel demand increased with more than 103,000 passengers and more than 620 flights.
It is expected that in the last week of June, after students complete the 2023 high school graduation exam, production will reach a new peak.
Based on the airlines' increased flight operation plan, Noi Bai International Airport expects to serve about 109,000 passengers (including nearly 29,000 international passengers and more than 80,000 domestic passengers) and more than 620 flights (including 210 international flights and 410 domestic flights) on the peak day of this year's summer season. This output is an increase of about 38% compared to normal, and 15% compared to the peak summer season of 2022.
Contributing to the above growth figures, it can be seen that the main reason is that the international flight output at the Port increased sharply compared to the summer of 2022, international passengers increased by 140%, international flights increased by 58%, while domestic flight output remained stable.
Note about identification documents
Noi Bai International Airport recommends that passengers pay special attention to their identification documents when arriving at the airport.
Accordingly, for domestic flights, passengers need to bring the original identification documents to complete aviation procedures; Check carefully the expiration date, especially pay attention to passengers traveling with children aged 14 and over (old enough to make a CCCD) if they have not had time to make a CCCD or passengers whose ID card/CCCD is lost, expired or blurred, and is not accepted, need to go to the local police station to make a personal identification certificate according to the current form to avoid being denied boarding the flight when the identification documents are not qualified.
Passengers under 14 years old must bring a birth certificate (original or certified copy from the place of issue).
Passengers need to check that their level 2 electronic identification account is activated to use in place of the original identification document during the pilot period (June 1 - August 1) to facilitate the airline check-in process.
For international passengers, it is necessary to prepare a passport with at least 6 months validity; prepare a visa and transit visa according to the regulations of each country. Note that passengers flying with children without their parents should ask the airline about the procedures for authorization from local authorities according to the prescribed form.
Passengers are encouraged to use web check-in or self-check-in at airline kiosks at the terminal.
Encourage self check-in
During peak times, Noi Bai Airport recommends that passengers limit relatives from picking them up or seeing them off to reduce pressure at the terminal and create a smooth flow of traffic for passengers.
Passengers need to be present 2 hours before departure for domestic flights and 3 hours before international flights to avoid the risk of flight delays due to traffic jams on the way to the airport or local congestion at the terminal during certain "golden" hours.
Passengers are encouraged to use web check-in or self-check-in at airline kiosks at the terminal to save time queuing at the check-in counter (for passengers without checked baggage).
Passengers traveling in groups when doing web check-in procedures need to separate each person's card, should not put them on the same phone device because it will take a lot of time for security check. Note, members of the group after checking in need to line up for security check and other procedures, avoid waiting for each other causing local congestion and flight delays.
Passengers who are elderly, pregnant women, or those traveling with children under 2 years old are given priority (but not including accompanying groups) and should proactively line up at priority lanes/entrance points reserved for passengers needing assistance.
Passengers should carefully read the regulations on baggage, dangerous items prohibited/restricted from being brought into restricted areas, and brought onto the train. Limit the carrying of liquids on international flights, comply with the inspection regulations of each destination regarding the liquids allowed to be carried. Note that fresh luggage, animals and plants must comply with the requirements for animal and plant quarantine according to regulations.
Add identification signs for luggage such as attaching name tags, writing your name, phone number or easily recognizable signs on luggage, foam boxes, cartons to make it easier to retrieve, and at the same time avoid other passengers taking it by mistake or losing it. In case of loss or damage to luggage, passengers need to immediately notify the airline staff for timely coordination in handling.
Passengers are encouraged to download and use the iNIA application on their smartphones to track flight information, flight times, flight dates, check-in counters, departure gates or any changes to their flights. Tracking flight information via iNIA will help passengers access the check-in area accurately, promptly and quickly. Track flight information on the flight information screens at the terminal areas to promptly update any changes (if any).
Encourage passengers to experience public transport.
Encourage passengers to experience public transportation to reduce pressure on the car park at Noi Bai Passenger Terminal. For connecting passengers who need to move between the two terminals, please note that Noi Bai International Airport arranges free connecting buses, operating with a frequency of 15 minutes/trip during the day, 30 minutes/trip at night, pick-up location at wing A, 1st floor - Passenger Terminal T1, and column number 11-12 Passenger Terminal T2.
