(VTC News) - After 14 months of construction, Phuoc An bridge connecting Ba Ria - Vung Tau province with Dong Nai has taken shape, ahead of schedule.

After more than 1 year of construction, the Phuoc An bridge project connecting Ba Ria - Vung Tau province with Dong Nai has gradually taken shape. At the construction site (in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province), the contractor and construction unit are making efforts to speed up the progress to bring the project to the finish line on schedule.
Phuoc An Bridge project has a total length of about 4.3km. Of which, the bridge is 3.5km long; the approach road on the route is 247m; the approach road connecting to the road down to Phuoc An port is about 617m long.
Phuoc An Bridge project has a total investment of 4,877 billion VND, of which the construction value is 3,843 billion VND. The investment capital comes from the provincial and central budgets. The project implementation period is from 2022 to 2027.
According to VTC News reporters on August 16, engineers and workers are working at full speed to speed up the project's progress.
According to observation, the project's approach piers began to extend out to Thi Vai River, in which the two main piers in the middle of the river were floating on the water surface.
Mr. Trieu Van Toan - Deputy Head of the Phuoc An Bridge Project Construction Team said that after 14 months of construction, the project has exceeded the schedule by more than 70 days. "With the current progress and human resources, workers and engineers working in "3 shifts", the project can be shortened by 11 months compared to the original plan", Mr. Toan said.
Phuoc An Bridge project includes 5 main construction packages, of which 2 packages are under construction (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province approach bridge and main bridge).
According to package 38 (construction of approach bridge from the beginning of the route to the T36-T37 approach pillar), the project is organizing construction teams from the beginning of the route to the T36 pillar, completing the service road, construction site, electricity and water supply system, casting and driving piles.
In addition, workers have constructed 53/370 Super-T beams, retaining walls, abutment bases, bridge piers M0, T1 to T5, piers T21 to T25 and pier T33; installed SuperT beams for 3 spans (M0 - T3). The total volume value reached over 44%.
In package 39 (construction of the main bridge from pier T37 to pier T40), the project is also mobilizing equipment and human resources, focusing on completing the construction site, service roads, and abutments to serve the construction. Currently, this package has completed 80/88 bored piles.
The approach bridge in Dong Nai province is still undeveloped and is expected to start construction in 2024.
According to the Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port Area Traffic Project Management Board, the progress of the Phuoc An Bridge project is on schedule. It is expected that in 2024, workers will continue to complete Package 38 to 57% of the contract and Package 39 to more than 40% of the contract. By 2025, the unit will strive to complete Package 38 to 100% of the contract, Package 39 to 50% of the contract, Package 40 to 10% of the contract and Package 41 to 10% of the contract.
